fendroid @fen.zone · 03/09/2026Been working again on a friend's kigurumi eye displays and thought I'd share what a full expression cycle looks like. I chose to go with an SDF centric approach as this makes smooth transitions and animations super trivial. Getting this to run well on the Pi Zero 2 W was a pain but we made it work. 020
fendroid @fen.zone · 31/07/2026Asterisk loses his nose by my friend Veesjan at www.tumblr.com/beesgav The character 208 belongs to her, and Strega to @appleheck.bsky.social 062
fendroid @fen.zone · 29/06/2026Read a DDS texture wrong and got this insane sicko character design 030
fendroid @fen.zone · 18/06/2026Insane art of Hemi by my friend Ichizu, absolutely incredible work!! (The lad receiving the emergency chiropractic adjustment is Theo, who belongs to @neonthoth.bsky.social) 161
fendroid @fen.zone · 17/06/2026This is the sketch that directly lead to me making the Hemi model, I like the vaguely displeased look on his face 191
fendroid @fen.zone · 14/04/2026Thinking about him... (Cape Shiretoko lighthouse, photo by Sky Drive Hokkaido) 121
fendroid @fen.zone · 06/04/2026Old footage of my dialogue box implementation. It parses XML for content, formatting, and scroll speed. Art by @appleheck.bsky.social 042
fendroid @fen.zone · 22/01/2026Totally neglected to share that I've been working on and off on a model of Modulo 2248
fendroid @fen.zone · 09/11/2025Switching from shape keys to bones for his mouth was such a good idea 0103
fendroid @fen.zone · 28/10/2025Insane birthday gift from my friend on www.tumblr.com/realcharadel... !!! 1112
fendroid @fen.zone · 22/10/2025It reminds me of Dragan Bibin's works, especially this piece (www.draganbibin.com/the-human-co...) 010
fendroid @fen.zone · 22/10/2025My buddy @appleheck.bsky.social and I were reading through Luke Ahearn's book on 3D game texturing and we came across maybe one of the scariest visuals to grace a pdf 131
fendroid @fen.zone · 09/09/2025Apparently I never followed up on that, whoops! Anyway, here it is. Driver expressions are exported into a simple bytecode format that is then evaluated on a rudimentary stack machine. 031
fendroid @fen.zone · 27/07/2025Asterisk by the insanely skilled @gemlad.bsky.social! His design has changed a bit since last time. His feet are no more! #oc 1195
fendroid @fen.zone · 17/07/2025Colour coding by these values more clearly reveals their influence on the triangle strips #modding 021
fendroid @fen.zone · 13/07/2025Been reverse engineering the model format used in Onimusha Dawn of Dreams, it's rather straight forward except for this segment. It seems to influence the connectivity of triangle strips but I'm not quite sure how. They resemble 16bit half floats but these values would be quite small. #modding 011
fendroid @fen.zone · 01/05/2025You can't see it but he actually has a mouth tucked under his chin! Here's a demonstration 051
fendroid @fen.zone · 01/05/2025Can't believe I forgot to share this. I did a design exercise using my buddy @venusbanana.bsky.social's oc, Venus! #art 3335
fendroid @fen.zone · 14/04/2025Behold... THE PI NEST. On the left is my Raspberry Pi 5 which is for general use, it's my git server, and backs up my stuff. The Pi Zero 2 W and Pi 4 are for a specific project I'll be sure to yap about at a later date. 050
fendroid @fen.zone · 16/03/2025Shape keys! Next I'd like to support Blender's custom properties and basic drivers. 141
fendroid @fen.zone · 15/03/2025I've been working on an asset inspection and validation tool for my rpg project and just last night managed to implement dual quaternion skinning! 100
fendroid @fen.zone · 01/03/2025Changed Asterisk's eyes to no longer bulge out by flattening the irises and capping them with an inverted cornea. 110
fendroid @fen.zone · 19/02/2025Simplified his eye shader to no longer use any procedural texture nodes, here's what my implementation looks like now 120
fendroid @fen.zone · 01/02/2025Changed Asterisk's eyes to be shader-based instead of using shape keys, and gave him some eye dilation bones as a treat! 020
fendroid @fen.zone · 20/01/2025Since the last post about my model of Asterisk I redid most of his body except for the gauntlets and greaves. For the spirals running down his limbs I used Blender's grease pencil to sketch 'em out before cutting them in. #art #oc 1154
