I've been reading @hearthfirevn.bsky.social to sort of force my mind into 'Winter' mentality, and boy has it worked. There's something about that story, even for the second or third time, that warms my heart and cools my mind.

Jumpstarts/Quickstarts are coming to Outwrite-Proud! I still encourage people to play the prologue to gather flags/interactions that may not be baked into the new options, this feature allows for less pain when exploring new content. ixious.itch.io/outwrite-pro... #OutwriteProud #FurryVN #FVN

Girl, I opened the Disney Vault of Trauma this weekend and spat out a 73k 'short' story that has made everyone that reads it cry, furious, or both, and I'm an effing amateur. Art comes from experience, from joy, from pain, and yes, from lust. AI could never.

It's humbling to know that folks are actually paying us for our work. Sure, it isn't much right now, but, there isn't that much of the story out there for you guys to read. Just knowing it means enough that some of you pay makes me feel like this really is a story that needs be told, to completion.

Not nearly enough, but my FVN is at a very early point in its release cycle, as far as 'what readers can see.' I feel like, as more of what we have written gets revealed, and more sprites..actually function...we will see more of those questions.

Fen of Outwrite Proud @fen-op.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

I cannot wait to see what Marcus does with this story. Nash has, at the very least, decades of experiences to explore, with so little in the story currently being known by the player. We are 6 days out from my Monthly Check-in with you guys, but, it's going to be a banger.

Fen of Outwrite Proud @fen-op.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

This is not about 'the newest controversy,' it's actually about a much older one. Artists ride a fine line on how much they withhold and how much they share in their art. You don't have to fully agree with a piece to enjoy it, or, conversely, see every detail to feel like the depiction is valid.

I cover some hard topics in later builds. You will feel awkward sometimes. I am always pulling the punch, though, because, at least in America, it's Freedom of Speech, not Mandate of Consumption. I strive to put out builds people can relate to, filling in the blanks with what I have to leave out.

The Emotions Wheel/Mandela that any of us who have been through Therapy have seen some version of. I posted it here because, well, most of us authors have been to therapy. We express our emotion, and our pain, in our work. But we also need to understand that our audiences are not our therapists. There is a fundamental difference between guiding a reader to empathize with one's characters, and trying to serve them a slice of whatever is going on in the author's brain.

Sandman Slim by Richard Kadrey I love how cinematic his storytelling is, like the old horror movies with far too much blood, and plenty of camp. The whole series is amazing, but the first, by far, shines the brightest.

In order to capture and defeat a writer, you must first discover their true weakness; that one normal word that they absolutely cannot spell correctly. Only then will you be able to bind them and take their literary power as your own.

Commissioned art is more expensive. I am paying for the sleepless nights, anatomy books, years of struggle, and cursed ipad nibs., but I'd rather validate human perseverance than give a single cent to machines that strip all that into 'data' for them to regurgitate it into quick and cheap fixes.

I had to lock down, then eventually retire, my Twitter because I found MY OWN IMAGES being used by 🌶️-bots, and, even worse, they were edited..so, yeah, I know artists don't see the same return on investment here as twitter, but, the risk is too high of your art getting scraped.
