"This iconic watercolor cover was painted by Edward Wilson, the expedition’s chief scientist and a talented artist. It features the RRS Discovery, anchored in McMurdo Sound, backdropped by Mount Erebus emitting a plume of volcanic smoke. Emperor penguins stand in the foreground on the sea ice."❤️

"The other reason why the commingling of livestock & wildlife hasn't led to disease, is simply the livestock RARELY suffer from disease. The Falklands' geographic isolation helps prevent the introduction of exotic pathogens, plus the strict protocols to avoid contagion from abroad."❤️ - Modern Farmer

Interesting - "The commingling of livestock and wildlife has often led to devastating disease outbreaks as a result of pathogens jumping from one host species to another. But this has never been an issue in the Falklands because ruminants aren’t closely related to seabirds, penguins, or sea lions."❤️
