my teenage brother told my dad today that he doesnt want to do any of this catholic stuff anymore (his mom has been making him attend church and sunday school etc since he was a kid despite my dads issues with it) because he "cant stand the hypocrisy"

Yeah, dlss 5 is using generative ai to “upscale” characters, this is what it does to the oblivion remaster also. Worth noting that dlss doesn’t usually use genAI otherwise as far as I’m aware but with 5… yeah 🥲

It’s called all the living and the dead btw for anyone who wants to check it out, the author interviews people who work in fields that handle death like embalmers, funeral directors, crime scene cleaners, etc. definitely not for the faint of heart, gets into the topic of death in detail. Great book

I’ve been playing through re6 with my friend recently and it’s so funny seeing Jake Muller and being like “I don’t know how this is weskers son he looks nothing like him” but then he does certain expressions or mannerisms and I am just like “okay yeah. That’s him.”

OH WOW LMFAO I hadn’t actually read anything about that I just assumed based on what they looked like, that’s so wild. I also cannot comprehend that there are people who prefer that yucky yuck… it simply doesn’t make sense

The worst part is I’m pretty sure this dlss 5 stuff is using genAI to replace character models … to make them more “attractive “… the character models that were carefully and intentionally designed by the people who worked on the game. Like man what are we doing

Sometimes I hate people but when I think about how different the human experience is and how everyone has love for things important to them I get very emotional and I realize being human is so badass. The diversity of emotions people feel from art is so badass.

I love that everything is so important to someone like there are so many movies or shows or games etc I don’t fw at all but I’m happy they mean something to other people, make them feel things and are important to them. It’s so awesome that everyone is different and has love for different things

They also require printing it out and turning it in directly to them so I feel a lot better about that than I do applying thru online applications anywhere else where they just sort through them with bullshit genAI… feels much more personal and organic and good handing it directly to them

I might apply for a job at the independent theater in town I just worry cause my mental health always tanks really bad when I am working customer service jobs like that but the theater is really lgbt friendly and it seems really chill there. Also would be a good job to have for me for now…

I haven’t been in contact with my mom since september last year I still have her blocked and. It’s been like 6 months and I’m starting to feel very sad about it. She sucks so I know I shouldn’t cave but she’s my mom and when I’m doing very very bad I start missing her 🥲

Honestly I sort of feel like most of the people complaining about one battle after another winning best picture didn’t even see the film themselves I can’t lie

Sinners didn’t win best picture but one battle after another is also a phenomenal film and I was hoping either that or sinners would win, even if I wanted sinners to win slightly more…. One battle deserves that win too imo
