Chris Rock Says He Still Regrets Not Helping a Wrongfully Convicted Man He Knew
Chris Rock has opened up about a decision that still bothers him decades later: refusing to help pay the legal bills of a man from his Brooklyn neighborhood who was eventually exonerated of murder. Rock identified the man as Roger Logan, the brother of one of his best friends. He said Logan’s brother repeatedly asked him to help finance a lawyer, but Rock declined because he had a personal rule against becoming financially responsible for legal cases. “I had the means to help him and I didn’t,” Rock said. “I don’t know if we could have got him out or not, but still.”
