Felbm @felbm.bsky.social · 20/04/2025spring vi - Kokuu (穀雨) - Grain rain A last hint of winter could be felt during the first half of this period. Days filled with rain and wind, sensible colder temperatures. Then the sun demanded its space and took over, giving ladybugs, bees and other insects energy to find food and buzz around. 111

Felbm @felbm.bsky.social · 04/04/2025spring v - Seimei (清明) - Pure and clear Skies were bright with beautiful stringy clouds. Wild bees circled around flowers of blossoming trees. Birds seemed very energetic - there was a palpable optimism to be found in nature. Listen to the full song here: felbm.bandcamp.com/track/spring-v 021

Felbm @felbm.bsky.social · 20/03/2025spring iv - Shunbun (春分) - Vernal equinox The time of sakura - I found it remarkable that cherry trees blossom exactly around the Spring equinox. I saw and heard the first wood larks of this year. Earthworms made use of the rainy weather and came to the surface, also on sidewalks and bike paths. 131

Felbm @felbm.bsky.social · 05/03/2025spring iii - Keichitsu (啓蟄) - Awakening of insects In 2023 (when I kept this journal) this was a windy and rainy period. As for insects awakening, I noticed mosquito-like bugs circling in the mist above the heather. I also heard the first chiffchaff of the season, which makes me happy every year. 122

Felbm @felbm.bsky.social · 18/02/2025spring ii - Usui (雨水) - Rain water During this period I saw sun, rain and snow. The snow stayed for a few days which made for a wintery feel. Yet on the sunny days birds would be very active, some of them sharing their song already - I could tell that for them it was definitely Spring. 121
