Fei Chen @feichen-uol.bsky.social · 21/03/2026We're so honoured to have the book published in time for the 20th anniversary of XJTLU, our sister university in Suzhou. A series of celebration events is planned—book launch in Suzhou and Liverpool soon. Keep watching this space for updates! 🎉 000
Fei Chen @feichen-uol.bsky.social · 21/03/2026I walked so much through Suzhou's winding alleys and hidden corners that even local taxi drivers thought I was a native. Deepest gratitude to photographer Zhang Liang, who had immense faith in us even when I was making painfully slow progress. He always searched tirelessly for the perfect angle. 000
Fei Chen @feichen-uol.bsky.social · 21/03/2026I still vividly remember those scorching summer days, writing in my rented apartment. The heat was so intense I could only venture out to visit buildings in the late afternoon. ☀️ 000
Fei Chen @feichen-uol.bsky.social · 21/03/2026Thank you to Yiping Dong, for keeping me updated on Suzhou's newest buildings! Some buildings, when I returned after a few years, were gone—demolished, erased. 000

Huge thanks to my co-author Andy Brown for his steady facilitation, constant encouragement, and the kind of attention to detail only someone with his profound knowledge of the city could bring. 000
Fei Chen @feichen-uol.bsky.social · 21/03/2026I received the book today! The Architecture of Suzhou (www.liverpooluniversitypress.co.uk/doi/book/10....) What an incredible journey this has been. For years, I've been slowly cooking down a massive amount of information into this book. 500
