Cake decorating. It's a few times a year hobby for me, not a serious discipline, but I'm constantly having to reassess what's easy and what's going to leave me swearing at the cake. Laws will vary locally but I've looked at whether I'd be able to operate a pontoon on vacations in Wisconsin and there's a boat-only license I could get. I think at my age I might have been grandfathered in without even getting the boat license. Do you even need a boating license for sailing??

So many tomaties! Regular (honestly kinda small) cherry tomato for scale 😂 ("Tiny Tomatoes" just didn't capture the sheer absurdity of these little guys, they're tomaties now)

My kids aren't super sensitive to scary stuff, so there have been maybe 2 or 3 Halloween decorations that have genuinely scared them through the years. They were way more freaked out by mascot costumes, the nice school dad dressed as Elmo was TERRIFYING 😂

It actually helps when they're set up in advance, the kids see them in the daytime and it's easier to point out all the "look, this is obviously just a really big version of an electronic toy" features. They're much scarier in the dark, but you can usually detour around them if you need to.

But if my kids walked to school on their own they'd have to cross 2 major streets, and several side streets where nobody stops at stop signs. Even after a lifetime of navigating on foot here I have to be on my guard all the time, and the kids have a lot to learn about gauging driver behavior still.

Thankfully most schools here don't do the long pick up line, parents who drive park in the neighborhood and walk over. There are still bad spots, though, we get off a city bus in front of a different school and there's always some asshole parked in the bus lane so we have to exit into the street 😡

I got hit by a car crossing with the walk signal because of this. Thankfully he at least slowed down for the turn so it wasn't catastrophic for me but man, use your fucking turn signals! Pedestrians can't read your mind and if you don't notice them, the signal at least warns them you're coming.

Parents get so much crap for being overprotective these days but man, have they SEEN the drivers??? I'm not too worried about my 6th grader getting kidnapped if I let him walk to school alone but I sure as fuck don't trust drivers today to even notice a shrimpy 11 year old trying to cross the street

I was torn between secret levels and secret rooms, to be honest. "Habitaciones" is used for bedrooms in my experience, but there are so many regional differences in Spanish, and also video game terms may not translate word for word 🤷. Not sure if that makes a difference in this context.
