No one ever claimed the JCPOA was perfect, but it was a hell of a lot better than what we're facing now. This is what happens when you do not have reliable people around you willing to share hard truths.

Minimum wage has been $7.25 since 2009. If it had merely kept up with inflation since then, it would be about $11.28 today. And if you use 1968 as the baseline, it would be closer to $15-$16. The real question is: Are we asking to raise it or just to have it catch up

Too many politicians find their spine only after retirement, defeat, or a book deal. Massie spoke up when it still cost him something. He challenged his own party, worked across the aisle, and took the hit. I do not agree with many of his positions, but he deserves credit.

This from the guy who promised $2 gas, cheaper housing, lower grocery prices, and auto insurance cuts. Trump ran on “I’ll give you everything,” delivered higher costs and chaos, and is now calling everyone else communists for wanting working people to catch a break. Projection much?

It is now officially the Deflection Pool. Trump inflates the cost, blames “Barack Hussein Obama,” and acts like the algae appeared by magic, not after he tried to turn a national landmark into a gaudy swimming pool. Even neighborhood pools need chemistry and maintenance. What a total buffoon.

He's aiming at the right target: corruption. But we should be honest. Citizens Utd and super PACs aren't going away by ordinary legislation under this Court. So start where Congress can still hit hard: stock trading bans, dark-money disclosure, coordination rules, FEC reform, and real enforcement.

A Russian drone hitting a residential building in NATO-member Romania should be treated as a flashing red warning. My fear is that Trump uses Hormuz and the Iran mess as an excuse to shrug at NATO, tell Europe to handle it, and call that strength. Meanwhile, Putin watches hesitation for a living.

FedUpEsq @fedupesq.bsky.social · 28/05/2026
If the latest reporting holds, Trump may have torched the JCPOA, started a war, then settled for reopening Hormuz, releasing frozen assets, and kicking the nuclear issue into another 60-day negotiation. For the “Art of the Deal” guy, this looks a lot like buying back the status quo at a markup.

Trump may have handed Texas Democrats an opening by pushing Paxton over Cornyn. But an opening is not a win. Paxton is damaged, but this is Texas. He’s still dangerous with Trump behind him. If we want Talarico in the Senate, treat this like a once-in-a-generation fight through November.

I’m old enough to remember when the Tea Party was treated as the far-right fringe. Now some of those same Republicans look almost quaint compared to MAGA. That’s the shift: what used to be the outer edge of the GOP is now treated as insufficiently loyal if it won’t bend the knee to Trump.

The federal minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25 since 2009 while billionaire wealth exploded. Meanwhile, working people are being convinced to vote against their own paycheck so billionaires can keep their super yachts. That is the con.

If you gave me the 20 most embarrassing signs of national decline, “UFC arena on the White House lawn” would not have even made the list. Somehow we blew past the obvious warnings and landed on something dumber (and with a man who thinks knowing “dumb” has a B in advanced literacy).

Nero vibes. A UFC fight on the White House lawn while the Republic burns around him. Gladiator games for the mob, staged at one of the most symbolic buildings in the country. It cheapens the office, embarrasses the institution, and tells the world exactly how unserious this has become.

You don’t have to agree with Massie on everything to see why MAGA wanted him gone. He showed that someone on the right could work with someone on the left and actually get something done. That kind of independence is dangerous to a movement built on obedience. We need more of that.

Trump says he wants an Iran deal, then adds a demand that Muslim-majority countries normalize with Israel while Gaza and Lebanon are still burning. Not sure if he's just wildly unserious or creating a built-in excuse for failure. Either way, Americans are the ones stuck with the war.

First they pardoned Jan. 6 rioters. Now DOJ is scrubbing the public record of the prosecutions. Orwell would have rejected this draft for being too obvious.

First we win the House and Senate in November. Then we end the legislative filibuster and ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks. No one writing laws should be personally trading on the markets those laws move.

FedUpEsq @fedupesq.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
Vote like the majority is only the beginning. Win Congress. End the legislative filibuster. Restore the Voting Rights Act. Require fair maps. Protect elections. Then govern like democracy is on the line, because it is.

The corruption is getting less subtle by the week. A taxpayer-funded “lawfare” fund that could reward Trump’s allies and Jan. 6 defendants should be political poison. If Congress won’t stop it now, voters need to send in one that will.
000
FedUpEsq @fedupesq.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
This looks overstated. The language appears limited to matters arising on or before the settlement’s effective date, including returns filed before then. Still outrageous. Trump’s own DOJ appears to have shut down past/current IRS exposure for him, his family, and related entities.

FedUpEsq @fedupesq.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
This is the dark-money problem in one race. A PAC can dump nearly $1M into a primary, boost a toxic candidate, hide the real money behind layers of entities, and voters may not know who pulled the strings until it’s too late. This cannot be allowed to continue. Let's take back the power and fix this

FedUpEsq @fedupesq.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
Johnson pulled the Iran War Powers vote because he knew it might pass. That’s the lesson: with a slim majority, it only takes a few Republicans willing to say no. Keep the pressure on. No blank check for an unauthorized war.

Why was a private billionaire with massive federal contracts, ownership of a major information platform, and deep involvement in one candidate’s campaign being praised by the winning candidate for knowing “vote-counting computers”? That's a legit question that needs an answer.

FedUpEsq @fedupesq.bsky.social · 21/05/2026
A sitting president disclosed hundreds of millions in securities trades while his administration makes decisions that move entire industries. “They were managed by third parties” is not enough. Presidents should not be anywhere near individual-stock exposure while holding market-moving power.

FedUpEsq @fedupesq.bsky.social · 21/05/2026
It reads like fiction: sues his own government, settles with his own government, gets an apology, shuts down current tax exams, and creates a $1.776B fund for “lawfare” victims. I'm old enough to remember when this was the kind of thing people used to pretend couldn’t happen here.

FedUpEsq @fedupesq.bsky.social · 21/05/2026
Outside money helped bury one of the few Republicans willing to challenge Trump, oppose the Iran war, question U.S.-Israel policy, and push for the Epstein files. That is exactly why dark-money disclosure and campaign-finance reform matter.
010
FedUpEsq @fedupesq.bsky.social · 21/05/2026
We may not be able to erase Citizens United by statute, but Congress can stop dark money from hiding in the shadows. That takes a majority willing to end the legislative filibuster and govern. So, first, Democrats need to get out and vote in Nov to take back the House and Senate.

D+11 on a generic ballot probably looks something like 40 seats gained in the House - IF we don’t get complacent. Have you registered to vote yet? Have you double checked to make sure you’re still registered? Do you have any documentation you need to vote? Start planning now.
