Good morning from the Philippines, builders and devs in the open social web! Just cross-posting this one from the Atmosphere via Bluesky since I'm more active there. Just curious about what's the state of burnout and bus factors within both the fediverse + atmosphere ecosystems, so feel free to […]

To the contrary: If Bluesky wins, or if Nostr or some new open, decentralized social platform wins, that only benefits the whole. The open social web is ONE web. I get prefering one, but being religious over ActivtyPub, vs ATProto vs Nostr protocols is silly and like POP3 email vs SMTP email […]

As someone who's using Gemini as a therapist of sorts (among other things, minus AI art parts), I am taking down notes on the horrors. Original post: bsky.app/profile/did:plc:jpjyorpadr…

An screenshot of Anne Lutz Fernandez (@lutzfernandez.bsky.social)'s thread on Bluesky with text: "Reading this paragraph--written by the editors of Wired, the most well-known tech publication--at BOE meetings in districts rushing AI seems like a good idea.

Ask why they are treating children like guinea pigs while pretending they can predict a future those most knowledgable about tech cannot."

Attached photo taken from WIRED with text: Hundreds of millions of people use it. Trillions of dollars fuel it.

In 2025, the conversation around AI turned from what it could be to what it is: Large language models are now everywhere, in our schools and our homes, on therapist couches and government computers. We feed it our data, and tell it our secrets.

The world is collectively engaged in a live experiment, with few controls and almost no regulation; the best-case and the worst-case scenarios all seem to end with our planet being forever transformed.

[mentions of thrist trap video reactions on YT] me after watching Flim Cooper and ItalianBach reacting to horny TikTok chefs in nutshell: ❌ horny chefs ✅ Duo the Owl being NSFW + getting sacked to HR also note to self: maybe post this at @MFHellscapes instead next time

Andrei Jiroh's comment for Flim Cooper's YouTube video titled "The HORNY CHEFS of TikTok": After between watching this and actually reading gay ship fanfics in some fandoms (plus yaoi fan art), maybe I would choose see Duolingo being NSFW rather than those chefs on my YouTube Shorts feed (gonna uninstall TikTok since I don't usually use it on my phone).
