The first woman gamekeeper was employed in the early 1800s on the Holkham Estate in Norfolk. Many women were employed as gamekeepers during the two World Wars. #FamilyHistory

The 1801 census provided information on the number of inhabited and uninhabited houses in the parish and how many families occupied them. Also included were the number of people in the parish, their employment and numbers of baptisms, burials and marriages in the previous 100 years. #FamilyHistory
