I always look forward to wholesome charity events like Colo every year. This is the first time I'm posting my sappy thoughts writeup publicly in a few years. (⚠️ There's a mini vent on slide 2 btw) I need a small internet detox, so I'll be avoiding socials as much as I can for a day, mayyybe two

========Power Up Colo 2026 sappy note========
Another Colo event has ended! This was loosely marked as the spiritual successor to something that had to be put down for valid reasons. I waited with bated breath to see what else was around the corner. In the background I saw what Colosseum was becoming, especially after it became independent. The thought of whatever that "successor" could be started to make me wonder about it a lot.

This may not be the EXACT same, but it doesn't have to be. New connections were made, and with it new bridges to other creators formed. That's what I felt when TRG Colo first happened, and it's happened again here. This truly was a Power Up.

To also be a part of this event in a small but still important way was also a huge privilege. I wasn't too lucky back in the day, for both reasons within and outside of my control. I'm proud to be standing with the community for the first time more visibly in support of the cause at hand.

⚠️ This section a mild vent. Please be advised. (I tried to be as concise as possible to not make it look like a tirade.)

Friends of mine know I've had a troubled past with self-acceptance over the past few years, leading to bouts of jealousy and envy towards some of my creative peers. I've tried not to care too much about that side of me in recent years as I began to forgive myself in my past shortcomings, and I did not want to directly attack anyone in particular. Four years ago, I tried out for something I wasn't prepared for, and only for that one thing, not realizing there were other avenues I could've helped in and gotten through with. There may have been other avenues open at the same time that I didn't think of because of a tunnel visioned goal I had.

I didn't know when I could mend that "FOMO" that I felt for the longest time, and my response to it (mostly in private) was somewhat immature as I was still processing those emotions. I'm very sorry to those I may have hurt or made uncomfortable at any point during that "jealousy arc" in both private and public spaces.

In search of "the chance," I ran away to search for myself through other mediums for a while, and at the same time I had ran away from my insecurities in the art medium. I even ran away from this side of the community after a point. This was both a good and bad thing in retrospect. Good because I found other ways to express myself in the mean time. Bad because the problem inside me persisted without proper "healing", even after parts of that jealousy could have been quelled as I found ways to fulfill my selfish goals anyway.

It only took me last year, in August, to begin finding my way out of this. I've continued to work on it over time since then. Sure, my dreams may still be shattered. Without that reality check, however, I wouldn't be where I am now.

⚠️ vent portion over

I am healed from those partly cloudy times now, officially. Last year around this time, I participated in a charity cover song that was dedicated to one of my favorite creators and singers which, unbeknownst to most of the people involved, also featured the friends of said creator. Upon receiving it, the creator felt very touched and cried happy tears as they watched it. I may have become an accomplice for making them cry on stream, but... that meant the world to be a part of something bigger than me in a meaningful and selfless way. And its proceeds all went to charity!

Frankly, I may not ever get to top that moment. That said, being a part of the PUCCC team fundraiser effort might as well be up there too. I had so much fun streaming with Aelita for one of her two Super Battle Golf streams, and I had my first taste of Crowd Control that made me wanna do it again if I ever gain the courage and following to stream again.

Now for the main event. This year's Colo was special (I say this as if to ignore the fact that other Colos exist---they're just as important lol). It marks a new beginning. I'm reminded of how TRG Colo 2018 and 2019 felt, but with all the lessons learned from years past throughout so many Colosseum events.

It's a new beginning for me too. I always see the end of a Colo event as a way to raise my own spirits for the next year ahead, seeing the passion of community rally for a good cause. PU Colo may not happen again until next summer(?), but at least now I have something to look forward to around that time. For now... I'm starting to have a vision for how I can return and start working towards my full potential after falling on my face all those years ago.

I have new people to check out now too, and I'm happy for that. It's good to leave the bubble sometimes; I've been immersed in the VTuber sphere for the last couple years at this point (more than I had been since February 2020, right before lockdown). I think it's been a good amount of time away.

Thank you again to the Colosseum people for bringing this all together. These events are always stellar, and I will be waiting for the next one that interests me!
