Don't forget he also demanded national production quotas for lumber via executive order. Apparently, it's only a centrally planned economy when North Korea does it.

Sure, but the OP did not do so. I think it's important to remember that our criminal justice system is overwhelmingly geared towards punishing poverty, rather than criminality. So it's unsurprising that money reduces law enforcement interactions with the poor.

Self reported crime statistics show very little difference in crime rates between the rich and the poor, just a difference in enforcement. I'd expect the relationship inverts for the wealthy. Giving a billionaire more money seems to encourage criminality.

It's a real headscratcher. I expect even evil Congressmen to have some emotional intelligence, and he just doesn't. He just keeps spouting off things that make everyone feel like spiders are crawling up their backs, and he doesn't even know it.

I'd be really curious to know what foreign made munitions the US is stocking up on. There's a chance he means 155mm artillery shells from Germany that aren't in use in the Iran conflict, but it feels like he's talking about something else.

Federal Courts Reject Trump Administration’s Attempts to Obtain Private Voter Information
Judges in California, Michigan, and Oregon have ruled that the DOJ cannot force states to turn over voter lists — and two questioned the administration’s motives.

It was actually drained every year until DOGE came along. Those scraps are the rubber separators between slabs that allows the pool to expand and contract without leaking. They couldn't be painted with the sealer, so they pulled them out and supposedly replaced them.

The truly scary part is that legal name "LivingforGod AndCountry Demott" is like the third best candidate out of the bunch. If it weren't for his desire for his own standing army he'd be a real contender.

Deep cleaning to suck up goose poop in Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool - WTOP News
If you were wondering why the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on the National Mall in D.C. looks much emptier much than usual, there’s a good reason.

It should probably be mentioned that while it's called a pool, it's more properly a duck pond. NPS scrapes inches of green duck poop off the bottom every year. So, it's not going to look any different when they are done anyway.

Interesting, hadn't heard of that before. And I believe that all approaches to attack Citizens United should be tried together. I am a bit confused though how this could block an out of state 501c from spending money it collected out of state. This feels like something courts wouldn't accept.

Pursue it, but also other options that can pass by statute. The core issue Citizen's United evaded was that it should never be legal for a custodian to spend other people's money lobbying without authorization. Pursue regulations that require a per contribution authorization by shareholders.

Congress has concentrated too much power in the Executive branch. It's time to scale it back to only be concerned with enforcing laws and commanding the military.

Faust_Hound @faustian-herne.bsky.social · 16/04/2026
Congress should seriously consider stripping every rulemaking body they've created from the executive. Make them advisory boards that report to and whose directors are selected by the relevant House committee. For example the FCC would report to the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology

The list of actions needed is extremely long. You should consider adding crediting every dollar appropriated by Congress that Trump illegally impounded to be immediately credited to the departments and entities that are entitled to it, especially USAID disease prevention programs.

I am angry. Not for the victim coming forward, but for not coming forward six months ago. Why now? There will be immeasurable harm done if California gets saddled with a MAGA governor, and the risk of that occurring has increased dramatically.

No, the Treasury has not declared the US insolvent. The article you're quoting is advocating for a balanced budget bill, using false pretenses. It is literally impossible for the US to default involuntarily on its obligations. The Fed can continue to print dollars and buy treasuries.

Yes, it bears mentioning that the entire battle is whether or not Trump can impose tariffs without the consent of the Senate as mandated by the Constitution. He's threatening the world if he doesn't get the power to do things even his own party won't approve.

I am not a lawyer, but I don't think anyone can be charged for state offenses in Florida or New Mexico anymore, but New York might still be able to. It's pretty likely he chose his locations to reduce his odds of prosecution.

Faust_Hound @faustian-herne.bsky.social · 08/02/2026
My understanding is the victims aren't publicly naming their attackers out of fear. Most if not all offenses have exceeded the statute of limitations, and the feds have granted blanket immunity to all back in Alex Acosta's day. So we're looking to ostracize the perps because we can't prosecute.

There was a huge amount of incredible music that came out in the 80's, and a lot of genres coalesced at that time. Punk, metal, industrial, goth, and rap all had golden ages in the 80's. It wasn't all Hall & Oates and Whitesnake.

It's not remotely an accurate list, nor are counts meaningful even when accurate. For example Obama is mentioned 2,485 times, because Epstein was obsessed with him, so Ghislaine would email Jeffrey links to every news article about him she could find. Better to look at what's in the files.

I'm suspecting they are just moving to Atlanta to try to see if they can use force to extort sensitive voter data from Georgia. Minneapolis held firm, now it's the next city's test.

Faust_Hound @faustian-herne.bsky.social · 25/01/2026
It's a useful angle because it clearly shows the victim was disarmed under the nose of the agent who began shooting. A defense we might hear if ICE decides their current BS isn't believable enough is that the officer who shot didn't know he was disarmed. This angle will demolish that argument.

Schumer will cave. He always does. Maybe after they stick in some meaningless additional training verbiage. Everyone write your senators! I already have, though mine aren't likely to be the problem.
Image of email to senator:

"Dear Senator,

Do not vote for H.R. 7147, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026.

Do not agree to any compromise that will allow it to pass if it is amended to add new training requirements.

The officers murdering Americans in the streets are not poorly trained. They are 8 and 10 year veteran officers.

We don't have a training problem. We have a rogue, lawless agency problem. DHS leadership won't care about any new laws you pass, they are already violating the law in countless ways.

Vote No, Do not compromise. Do everything in your power to stop your colleagues from voting yes.

Signed an outraged constituent,"

010
Faust_Hound @faustian-herne.bsky.social · 19/01/2026
I feel that we need to be specific about what files we want to see. We need the contents of the crate of hard drives the FBI seized in 2019. We need Epstein's wire transfer records. We need the transcripts of the FBI interviews with Epstein's pilot, driver, chef, and Citrix administrator.

Faust_Hound @faustian-herne.bsky.social · 14/01/2026
Later, when states began using the exception to prosecute white supremacists burning crosses on black folk's lawns, the exception was neutered because the Court decided that protecting hate speech was more important than the fighting words prohibition (R.A.V. v. St. Paul (1992)).
