"This entire process was never about me, never about any threat to the public and never about 'terrorism'," Mo Charra said. "It was always about Palestine and about what happens if you dare to speak up. About what happens if you can reach large groups of people and expose their hypocrisy."

One thing that makes this war even worse is that it’s happening in Ramadan- by the time it’s time to break my fast, I’m so stressed by the sound of explosions I feel too nauseated to eat and I’m too wired to sleep. Tough evening

My husband has lived through the first gulf war, an ISIS siege in Syria, the Russia- Ukraine war and now the Iranian missiles over Doha. If anyone from Netflix wants to make a movie out of his life story, we’re ready to hear your pitch 🫠

okay, Ill bite. What do you think the point of reading for and writing a literature review is? The process of reading and writing is crucial for THINKING. Your ideas are shaped by all of this, offloading it to gAI, no matter how "good" you think gAI is at it defeats the purpose entirely.

when you are an author (or a student) putting in texts even "just for editing" into gen-AI, you are at risk of plagiarism bec this is how the algorithm works. in old-fashioned academic integrity lingo, you participate a mass "collusion". we end up with 30 essays with the same structure & argument

Here are some thoughts on the Palestine Action ruling for the @lrb.co.uk. The ruling shows the importance of the UK Government's national security assessments being challenged - which doesn't happen enough under our current system.

‘ICE are like ISIS’ takes are so annoying. They’re not like something foreign and scary. They’re like something very American- like the KKK. Or the American army in Vietnam or Iraq or literally anywhere. Violence is indigenous to your culture.
