This is spot on. Elected office is a noble pursuit if one pursues it for virtuous reasons. The problem is that we have allowed politics to become empty of even the pursuit of virtue, which means only those who are deeply amoral are going to be drawn to it.

My review of Disclosure Day finally came out. I don't think I've ever seen a film that does such a good job of depicting our deep hunger for God while simultaneously doing such a bad job of understanding religion.

This is not helpful, at least in a high school setting. Leaving aside that students can still beat this by memorizing what AI writes--yes, I've seen this happen--the big problem is that there is only so much time to teach them, and now a big chunk has to be lost to in class writing.
