ZION NATIONAL PARK - The Narrows My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k... Photography is not about capturing everything, it is about remembering what matters. #photography #nature #landscape #sunrise #wallart #NIKON #D780 #写真撮影 #사진촬영
A narrow slot canyon rises steeply on both sides, with smooth, weather-carved sandstone walls that nearly meet overhead. The canyon walls are mostly deep red, rust, brown, and charcoal gray, with bright orange sunlight illuminating the upper center and casting darker shadows below.

A shallow stream flows along the canyon floor from the distance toward the viewer. Its surface glints with pale blue and white reflections as it passes around the rocks. The left wall bulges inward in rounded, sculpted layers, while the right wall forms a tall, dark-red vertical face. Farther ahead, the canyon bends slightly and narrows into shadow.

The overall scene feels enclosed and towering: a small ribbon of moving water below massive, glowing rock walls.

The Dale Bumpers White River National Wildlife Refuge in the Arkansas Delta holds the largest stretch of bottomland hardwood forest left standing in the entire Mississippi Alluvial Valley. 🌲

Bald cypress and tupelo rise straight out of black water here, their roots braided into knees that break the surface like old bones. Ivory-billed woodpeckers were once reported deep in this same swamp, feeding decades of searchers with a single flicker of hope.

Bald cypress knees like that can take a hundred years to grow tall enough to break the waterline.

Rainey Lake Eagle Landing in a nest
Minnesota, United States, Ontario, Canada

An adult bald eagle is captured mid-air, flared out in a descent posture with wings fully spread and primary feathers fanned. Its bright white head and tail contrast against its dark brown body and wings.

The eagle’s yellow talons are dropped forward and open, bracing for touchdown on a bare, exposed pine branch just above its nest.

Composition & Environment

The Nest: A massive, stick-built nest sits nestled in the upper crook of a mature white pine tree, positioned directly below the landing bird.

A dramatic coastal scene at Cape Flattery in Olympic National Park, Washington.

The view looks out over deep teal-blue ocean water from a high vantage point on a rocky shoreline. Lush green foliage—leaves, branches, and shrubs—frames the left side and lower foreground, partially obscuring the view like a natural window.

On the right, a massive, weathered gray rock formation rises steeply from the water. It has a large, dark cave-like opening at its base and is streaked with yellow-green moss or algae. The rock surface is rough and layered, with some reddish-brown tones near the waterline.

In the middle of the water sit several rounded, low rocky outcrops and small islets. Many are carpeted with bright yellow-green moss or lichen, contrasting sharply against the dark water. Gentle waves create thin white foam around their bases.

Across the water in the middle distance, tall gray-and-tan cliffs rise dramatically. They show horizontal sedimentary layers and contain several large arched sea caves or openings carved by the ocean. Dense evergreen forest tops the cliffs, with tall trees and thick undergrowth.

The sky is overcast and pale, giving the scene a soft, misty light typical of the Pacific Northwest. The overall atmosphere is rugged, wild, and serene, with the deep blue water, mossy rocks, and forested cliffs creating a strong sense of remote coastal wilderness.

Sunrise on the beach along Ocean Path in Acadia National Park My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k... Photography is not about capturing everything, it is about remembering what matters. #photography #nature #landscape #sunrise #wallart #digitalArt #photoArt #NIKON #D780 #写真撮影 #사진촬영
This image captures a serene sunrise along a rugged, rocky coastline over the beaches along Ocean Path in Maine's Acadia National Park in Maine. This stretch of coastline, which includes Thunder Hole and Boulder Beach, is one of the most beautiful sections of Acadia National Park.

Foreground

The lower half of the image is dominated by large, dark, seaweed-draped boulders scattered across the shore. Nestled among these wet, textured rocks is a calm tidal pool that reflects the deep blue and subtle pink hues of the sky above.

Midground & Coastline

To the left, light-colored granite bedrock slopes upward into a dense forest of dark green pine trees that line the coastal hills. The shoreline curves gently to the right toward calm ocean waters, where the low tide exposes wet, jagged rock formations jutting slightly into the sea.

Background & Sky

In the distance, a low, tree-lined landmass stretches horizontally across the horizon under a gradient sky. The sky transitions from a deep indigo blue at the top down to soft tones of violet, vibrant pink, and brilliant orange near the horizon where the sun rises. A few wispy, soft clouds stretched thin across the center catch the bright pink glow of the morning light.

This image shows a scenic, multi-tiered waterfall cascading through a rocky gorge in a lush forest setting along the Sandy River in central Maine.
In the center, white, foamy water plunges down several rocky ledges in a series of short falls. The upper section of the waterfall drops more steeply between dark gray cliffs, then spreads into a broader, churning cascade before flowing into a calm, reflective pool at the base.
The surrounding landscape is dense with vibrant green trees and foliage. Tall evergreen trees with slender trunks stand on the left, while broad-leafed deciduous trees fill the right side and frame the top of the scene. Sunlight filters through the canopy, casting dappled light and warm golden highlights on the reddish-brown and gray rocks in the lower left and foreground.Large, weathered boulders and smooth, water-worn rocks of varying sizes—some mossy or lichen-covered—line the stream bed and form the cliffs. In the immediate foreground, clear, shallow water reveals smooth, rounded stones and pebbles along the river bottom. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and natural, with the contrast of rushing white water against the deep greens of the forest and the earthy tones of the rocks.

Moss Glenn Falls in Vermont is a multi-tiered waterfall cascading down a steep, dark rocky cliff face in a lush forest setting.
The water is captured in a smooth white stream (characteristic of a long-exposure photograph), tumbling over layered dark gray and brown rock ledges from a high, narrow upper section down through broader, stepped cascades that widen toward the base. Mist and spray are visible where the water hits the lower rocks.
Dense, vibrant green foliage frames the scene on both sides and overhead: bright deciduous leaves (some illuminated by sunlight) intermingle with darker evergreen needles and branches. Moss and small plants cling to the damp rock faces, enhancing the verdant, enclosed feel of the gorge. Sunlight filters through the canopy, highlighting the upper leaves and creating contrast between the bright greens and the shadowed rock and water.
The overall atmosphere is serene, immersive, and classic of Vermont’s wooded waterfalls—lush, moist, and secluded.

Snowy Egret - Atchafalaya Basin,, LA My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k... Photography is not about capturing everything, it is about remembering what matters. #photography #nature #Atchafalaya #swamp #wildlife #bird #egret #landscape #nature #wallart #photoArt #NIKON #D850
a striking Snowy Egret is captured in a sharp, elegant profile against a lush, atmospheric swamp backdrop.

Here is a detailed breakdown of the image composition:
Subject & Detail

The Egret: The bird stands tall and alert on a weathered, moss-covered log. Its brilliant, pristine white plumage contrasts sharply with the deep tones of the environment. Delicate, wispy breeding plumes are visible along its head and back.

The Beak & Lores: It features a long, slender black bill with a patch of vibrant, bright yellow skin (lores) surrounding its piercing eye.

The Nesting Material: Gripped firmly in its beak is a thin, curved, reddish-brown twig, capturing a momentary pause in its gathering behavior.

The "Golden Slippers": True to its species, its long, slender legs are charcoal black, transitioning abruptly into brilliant, golden-yellow feet that grip the log.

Background & Composition

Foreground: Lush, green marsh grasses and wild foliage frame the left side of the composition, adding depth and a sense of concealment.

Midground & Backdrop: The egret is perched over a calm, dark green body of water. The background is softly blurred into a smooth, painterly bokeh, with a partially submerged log visible in the soft-focus midground.

Lighting: High-contrast, directional natural light illuminates the top edge of the log and the bird's white feathers, creating clean lines and emphasizing the rich textures of both the avian subject and the ancient swamp woodwork.

Swamp Lilly with Bee My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k... Photography is not about capturing everything, it is about remembering what matters. #photography #nature #wildlife #landscape #swamp #wallart #photoArt #Louisiana #NIKON #D780
A serene and striking close-up from the swamps of Lake Martin, Louisiana.

In the foreground, a pristine white water lily ) stands out vividly against the dark, tannin-stained waters. Its symmetrical petals are bright white with subtle cream and pale yellow tones near the center, where a bee is actively foraging among the golden stamens. The flower's thick red stem rises from the water, adding a bold splash of color.

To the left, a dramatic, weathered cypress stump or knee dominates the composition — dark, textured, and rugged, with deeply grooved, splintered wood. Clinging to it are layers of dried, reddish-brown organic matter (possibly old cypress "knees," decaying vegetation, or epiphytic growth common in Louisiana swamps), creating a rich textural contrast with the delicate flower.

The background is filled with a dense carpet of lily pads in varying shades of vibrant green, olive, and warm reddish-orange, typical of the nutrient-rich, slow-moving waters of Lake Martin. A large, patterned green leaf with reddish veins is visible in the lower right, completing the classic Atchafalaya Basin wetland scene.

This image beautifully captures the **swamp's duality**: the rugged, ancient, decaying elements of the cypress swamp alongside the fresh, luminous beauty of blooming aquatic life. Lake Martin’s iconic bald cypress swamps, with their still black waters and abundant wildlife, are a perfect setting for this moment of pollination and natural harmony.

Lone Bison in Hayden Valley, Yellowstone My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k... Photography is not about capturing everything, it is about remembering what matters. #photography #nature #Yellowstone #wildlife #landscape #sunrise #wallart #digitalArt #photoArt #Park #NIKON #Tamron
This image features a large, solitary American bison standing in a lush green meadow. The bison is captured facing slightly toward the viewer with its head turned, revealing its dark expressive eye and sturdy curved horns. Its thick shaggy coat is deep chocolate-brown to nearly black with a pronounced muscular hump covered in denser lighter-toned fur on the shoulders.

The setting is a serene, wild landscape:
Foreground: The bison is standing amidst low-growing sagebrush and green meadow grasses, with textured shrubs framing the bottom left and right of the shot.

Background: The background transitions into a soft, heavily blurred landscape. Tall, dark evergreen trees stand in the distance against a muted, overcast or misty backdrop, which creates a dramatic separation that makes the bison pop as the clear focal point.

The lighting is soft and diffused, characteristic of an overcast misty morning, in a Hayden Valley inside Yellowstone National Park. This even light accentuates the rich textures of the bison's coat and the muted greens and grays of the surrounding high-desert vegetation, giving the entire scene a serene yet powerful atmospheric mood.

Yosemite - El Capitan and the Three Brothers - reflection. My collection: https:// fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-kevin-crosby #NIKON #photography #nature #landscape #wallart #photoArt #DigitalDarkroom #NationalPark #prairie #grassland #Yosemite #Reflection
Classic Yosemite Valley landscape, capturing one of the park’s most iconic scenes: El Capitan and the Three Brothers reflected in a calm pool.

The foreground is dominated by a glassy, mirror-like pool of water. The reflection duplicates the cliffs, trees, and sky with only slight ripples and floating debris breaking the surface.

On the left rises the massive, sheer granite face of El Capitan, glowing with warm golden light on its upper sections while the lower parts remain in shadow.
To the right are the distinctive jagged peaks of the Three Brothers — three stepped granite summits that look like they’re stacked on top of each other.

A lush, vibrant green forest lines the water’s edge. You can see tall ponderosa pines and firs mixed with black oaks and cottonwood trees in their bright spring/summer foliage. The greenery creates a beautiful contrast against the gray and golden granite.

A clear, deep blue sky with soft, wispy white clouds stretches above, also beautifully reflected in the water.

Urban Racoon - Breakfast #photogrpahy #nature #Wildlife #urban #Nikon My collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k...
This is a wildlife photograph of a raccoon standing at the edge of a shallow body of water (likely a small pond, creek, or puddle) in a wooded area.
Key Details:

The Raccoon: Positioned in the center, it’s looking directly at the camera with a curious, alert expression. Its front paws are at the water’s edge, possibly foraging, washing food, or drinking — fitting the “Breakfast” title. It shows classic raccoon features: a dark “bandit” mask across the eyes, white muzzle and whiskers, rounded ears with white edges, and a stocky body covered in grizzled brownish-gray fur.
Setting: A natural, slightly damp forest floor covered in dry leaves, twigs, and debris. A prominent tree trunk with textured bark is visible on the left. The background consists of green undergrowth and more woodland foliage.
Lighting & Mood: Soft, diffused natural light (possibly early morning or late afternoon), creating a moody, atmospheric feel. The water in the foreground has gentle reflections and some out-of-focus green leaves in the bottom right.

Overall Vibe: A charming, intimate nature shot capturing a raccoon in its element — opportunistic, alert, and right in the middle of its morning routine.

Mt. Hood - Early Morning Mist My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k... Photography is not about capturing everything, it is about remembering what matters. #photography #nature #landscape #sunrise #wallart #digitalArt #photoArt #DigitalDarkroom #NationalPark #NIKON #D780
A stunning, atmospheric landscape photograph featuring Mount Hood in Oregon, captured during the early morning with a heavy layer of mist.

The dominant subject is the majestic, snow-capped stratovolcano, Mount Hood. Its peak rises sharply against a clear, deep blue sky. The upper slopes are covered in patches of white snow, while the lower flanks show exposed rocky ridges and forested areas in shades of brown and green.

- **Foreground Lake**: A calm Trillium Lake fills the bottom portion of the frame. The water's surface is mirror-like, reflecting the mountain and the mist above it. A thick, ethereal blanket of white mist hovers just above the water and drifts through the dense forest at the base of the mountain. This creates a dreamy, almost mystical atmosphere, partially obscuring the trees and adding depth and softness to the scene. A thick coniferous forest (mostly evergreen trees like fir and pine) lines the shore and covers the lower slopes of the mountain. The mist weaves between the trees, making the forest appear layered and mysterious. In the middle of the lake, slightly to the right of center, there's a small white boat with two people in it. One appears to be fishing or holding a rod. The boat is tiny in comparison to the massive mountain, emphasizing the scale and serenity of the scene. The lighting is soft and golden, typical of early morning sunrise. Warm light catches the right side of the mountain and filters through the mist, creating a gentle glow and long shadows.

The image evokes a profound sense of peace, solitude, and natural beauty. The combination of the towering mountain, the still reflective water, the drifting mist, and the tiny human element in the boat creates a perfect balance between grandeur and intimacy. It feels like a moment of quiet contemplation in one of Oregon's most iconic natural settings.

Canada Goose swimming gracefully in calm water. My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k... Photography is not about capturing everything, it is about remembering what matters. #photography #nature #landscape #sunrise #wallart #digitalArt #photoArt #Park #NIKON #D780
This is a classic, high-quality wildlife photograph of one of North America's most recognizable waterfowl species. The Canada Goose is known for its distinctive honking call and V-shaped flight formations during migration.

Key visual details:

Head and Neck: The goose has a striking black head and long black neck, with a very prominent white "chinstrap" or cheek patch that wraps under the chin and extends up behind the eye — the classic field mark for this species.
Body Plumage: The body is covered in soft brown and grayish-brown feathers with a scalloped or "barred" pattern, especially visible on the wings and flanks. The underparts (breast and belly) are a lighter, pale tan/buff color.
Bill: It has a solid black bill, typical of Canada Geese.
Posture: The bird is floating on the water with its neck held in a gentle S-curve, looking slightly to the right of the frame. Its body creates gentle ripples in the water around it.
Background: The water has a lovely reflective quality, showing distorted reflections of trees and sky. The surface has subtle ripples and a slightly greenish-murky tone common in ponds or slow-moving water.
Lighting: Bright natural daylight illuminates the scene, highlighting the texture of the feathers and creating nice contrast between the dark head and the lighter body.

3 Curious young Red Foxes My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k... Photography is not about capturing everything, it is about remembering what matters. #photography #nature #landscape #sunrise #wallart #digitalArt #photoArt #DigitalDarkroom #NationalPark #NIKON #D780
This is a wildlife photograph featuring "three curious red young foxes in a lush forest setting. The young foxes appear to be a few months old — still small with slightly fluffy, juvenile proportions but already showing the alert, intelligent expressions of adult foxes.

One fox is standing confidently on top of a large, weathered tree stump, looking off to the right side of the frame with perked ears and a focused gaze. A second fox is peeking out from behind the standing fox, positioned slightly lower on the stump, also looking toward the right with wide, curious eyes. The third fox is sitting on the lower part of the stump (to the left), facing more toward the camera with an adorable, direct stare and slightly tilted head.

The scene is set in a dense, green woodland in early spring showing the fresh, bright green leaves surrounding them.
The large, dark, hollowed-out tree stump they’re perched on is a prominent feature — it looks old and decaying, providing a natural elevated platform for the foxes.
Soft, diffused natural light filters through the canopy, creating a gentle, almost magical atmosphere with vibrant greens in the background foliage.

The image captures a moment of natural curiosity and playfulness. The foxes look alert and interested in something just outside the frame.

The image shows a vibrant field of tulips in full bloom under bright sunlight.
The most striking feature is a single bright yellow tulip standing prominently in the center, surrounded by a sea of deep magenta/purple tulips. The yellow tulip is in sharp focus, with its petals fully open in a classic cup shape, while many of the surrounding purple tulips are also in focus in the foreground and mid-ground, gradually blurring into a soft bokeh effect in the background.
The flowers have the typical tulip form — smooth, waxy petals and long, slender green stems with narrow leaves visible throughout. The lighting is strong and natural, creating vivid colors, subtle highlights on the petals, and a cheerful, springtime atmosphere.
This is a classic "stand out from the crowd" or "unique one in the bunch" composition, where the lone yellow tulip contrasts beautifully against the uniform purple ones.

Springtime Flowers - #Memphis Botanical Gardens My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k... Photography is not about capturing everything, it is about remembering what matters. #photography #nature #flowers #Tulips, #Spring #landscape #wallart #photoArt #NIKON
This is a vibrant, high-angle photograph of a dense cluster of tulips in full bloom. The image captures a rich variety of colors and patterns, creating a lively and textured floral scene.

The dominant colors are deep violet-purple, bright magenta-pink, and creamy white. There are also striking variegated tulips featuring white petals with dramatic purple streaks or "flames." A few pale yellow blooms are interspersed throughout the bunch. Many of the tulips are wide open, revealing their inner anatomy, including yellow anthers and dark centers. The petals vary from smooth and rounded to slightly ruffled and pointed.

The photo taken in bright, direct sunlight, which makes the saturated colors pop against the dark soil and green foliage. This lighting creates sharp highlights on the petal edges and deep shadows within the cluster.

The composition is tightly framed, focusing entirely on the explosion of spring color provided by the flower bed.

A sunrise from Monument Valley captured at Hunts Mesa. My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k... Photography is not about capturing everything, it is about remembering what matters. #photography #nature #landscape #sunrise #wallart #Buttes #photoArt #Utah #Arizona #Navajo #NIKON
This stunning photograph captures a panoramic sunrise from **Hunts Mesa Overlook** in Monument Valley (Arizona/Utah border), one of the most iconic viewpoints in the American Southwest.

The composition is layered beautifully:
- **Foreground**: Rugged, undulating sandstone terrain in warm terracotta and golden-orange tones, bathed in the low-angle sunrise light. Sparse desert scrub—small shrubs, clumps of dry grass, and scattered juniper—adds texture, while long, dramatic shadows stretch across the ground, emphasizing the early-morning hour.
- **Midground**: Eroded mesas and buttes with classic horizontal strata and rounded, weathered edges. Some faces glow brightly in rich reds and oranges where the sun strikes them; others remain in cool purple-blue shadow, creating incredible depth and contrast.
- **Background**: The distant valley floor stretches to the horizon, where the most famous Monument Valley monuments rise—towering buttes and the unmistakable silhouettes of the Mittens and other sentinel formations. A light haze softens the farthest peaks, adding atmospheric perspective.

The **sky** is spectacular: a deep indigo-to-lavender gradient at the top fades into softer blues near the horizon, with scattered, fluffy clouds catching subtle pink and gold highlights from the rising sun. The overall color palette—warm earth tones against cool atmospheric blues and purples—is cinematic and perfectly balanced, giving the scene an epic, peaceful, almost otherworldly feel.

This is quintessential Monument Valley: vast, ancient, and dramatically lit by the first light of day from one of the best high overlooks in the region.

The image shows an immense, otherworldly desert badlands stretching to the horizon. Deeply eroded sedimentary rock creates a chaotic sea of razor-sharp ridges, narrow gullies, rounded domes, and flat-topped mesas. The terrain looks almost lunar or Martian—hence the nickname “Moonscape.”

The sun is low (sunrise or sunset), bathing the eastern-facing cliffs and buttes in rich, fiery orange and golden light. Long, dramatic shadows stretch across the valleys, emphasizing every crease and layer in the rock. The foreground and lower slopes shift into cooler shades of rust, cinnamon, and slate gray where they fall into shade, while the distant plains fade into soft lavender haze.

A rugged, isolated rock pinnacle (a small butte or hoodoo) sits in the lower right, catching the last warm light on its textured, crumbling surface.
A series of larger, layered mesas and buttes rise like ancient fortresses. Their flat iron-stained caps glow bright orange, while the steeply eroded sides reveal intricate horizontal banding and deep vertical gullies carved by centuries of flash floods and wind.
Beyond the badlands lies a broad, flat valley floor. On the far horizon, a majestic snow-capped mountain range (likely the Henry Mountains or La Sal Mountains) rises in soft blue tones, contrasting sharply with the warm desert tones below.
A clean gradient from pale peach near the horizon to soft lavender and deep blue overhead, with almost no clouds—perfect conditions for that classic Utah “big sky” feel.

This exact viewpoint is a popular pull-off along the road between Hanksville and Goblin Valley / Capitol Reef, often shot from the rim overlooking the San Rafael Desert badlands.

Biscayne National Park -Boca Chita Key - Serene Bay #NIKON #photography #nature #landscape #Seascape #wallart #digitalArt #photoArt #NationalPark #EastCoastKin #Florida #Ocean My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k...
This image captures the serene, crystal-clear waters of Biscayne National Park in Florida, highlighting the unique coastal ecosystem where the land meets the sea.

Mangrove Islands: In the mid-ground, small clusters of mangroves emerge directly from the shallow water. These "walking trees" are vital to the park, providing nurseries for marine life and protecting the shoreline from erosion.

Pristine Water: The foreground features exceptionally clear, shallow water over a sandy and pebbled seafloor. You can clearly see a bright red starfish resting on the bottom, emphasizing the health and visibility of this marine environment.

Coastal Horizon: A larger, denser mangrove shoreline stretches across the left side of the frame under a vast, vibrant blue sky. The calm surface of the water suggests a quiet, protected lagoon area, likely near one of the park’s keys.
The starfish visible in the foreground is likely a Cushion Sea Star, a common sight in the seagrass beds and shallow sandy flats of the park.

Cape Flattery - Olympic National Park - Washington #NIKON #photography #nature #landscape #wallart #digitalArt #photoArt #DigitalDarkroom #NationalPark # #EastCoastKin #sunset My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k...
This image captures the rugged, majestic beauty of Cape Flattery in Olympic National Park, the northwesternmost point of the contiguous United States. It features a dramatic coastal landscape where the Pacific Ocean meets weathered stone and ancient forests.

Sea Stacks & Cliffs: Massive, dark rock formations rise sharply from the deep blue water. The most prominent sea stack in the foreground is intricately textured, covered in patches of vibrant green moss and topped with small, resilient evergreen trees. The surrounding cliffs are carved with deep crevices and sea caves, showing the power of the tides.

The Forest: A dense, lush canopy of Sitka spruce and other conifers blankets the tops of the cliffs. The vibrant green of the trees creates a striking contrast against the dark stone and blue water.

Water & Sky: The water is a deep, sapphire blue with gentle white ripples around the base of the rocks. Above, the sky is a brilliant blue, filled with wispy, streaky cirrus clouds that are tinged with soft lavender and white, suggesting the calm light of late afternoon or early evening.

Atmosphere: The overall mood is one of wild, untouched serenity. The warm lighting highlights the textures of the rock and the individual needles of the trees, giving the entire scene a high-definition, ethereal quality.

The composition perfectly showcases the intersection of the temperate rainforest and the Pacific graveyard, a hallmark of the Olympic Peninsula's unique geography.

Joshua Tree National Park - Coyote at dusk #NIKON #photography #nature #landscape #wallart #digitalArt #photoArt #DigitalDarkroom #NationalPark #JoshuaTree #EastCoastKin #sunset #desert #Mojave My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k...
This image captures a stunning golden hour moment in Joshua Tree National Park, beautifully illustrating the "high desert" ecosystem of the Mojave, blending the park's iconic desert flora with a rare coyote sighting.

The scene is bathed in the warm, low-angle light of late afternoon, which highlights the textures of the desert landscape.

The Joshua Trees - Several large Joshua trees dominate the mid-ground. Their shaggy trunks and spiky green clusters are illuminated, casting long, soft shadows. One particularly twisted branch reaches down toward the sandy floor, showcasing the eccentric growth patterns for which the park is named.

A coyote is visible in the lower-left quadrant, standing alert near a large granite boulder, looking directly toward the camera, its tawny fur blending naturally with the surrounding scrub and dried grasses.

To the left and in the background, the park's famous monzogranite boulders appear smooth and rounded, glowing with an orange-gold hue from the setting sun.

Lighting - Golden hour; creates high contrast between the bright plant tips and deep shadows.
Flora - Includes Joshua trees, creosote bushes, and desert scrub.
Terrain - Sandy, light-colored soil typical of the Mojave Basin.
Mood - Quiet, serene, and slightly wild, emphasizing the stillness of the desert at dusk.

USVI - St John - Cinnamon Bay #photography #nature #landscape #wallart #digitalArt #photoArt #DigitalDarkroom #NationalPark #USVI #VirginIslands #EastCoastKin My Collection - fineartamerica.com/profiles/5-k...
This image captures a breathtaking view of **Cinnamon Bay** on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, one of the most iconic and serene beaches in Virgin Islands National Park.

In the foreground, a wide, gently curving stretch of soft, light tan to golden-brown sand meets the water's edge, with small, foaming waves lapping lazily ashore in gentle curls of white. The water transitions beautifully from crystal-clear shallows near the shore—showing hints of pale turquoise and aqua—into deeper, vibrant turquoise and bright cerulean blues farther out.

The sea looks exceptionally calm and inviting, with subtle ripples and sparkles under bright Caribbean sunlight. Several people are swimming or floating in the distance, adding a sense of relaxed scale to the scene.

A prominent sailboat (and a couple of smaller vessels) is anchored in the midground, their white hulls and masts contrasting sharply against the intense blue water and sky, giving that classic tropical postcard feel.

To the right and left, rugged, rocky cliffs and hillsides rise dramatically, covered in dense, lush green tropical vegetation—dense trees, shrubs, and what look like cacti or agave-like plants clinging to the slopes. The greenery forms a thick, forested backdrop that frames the bay, with the hills rolling upward into rounded, tree-covered mountains under a brilliant, mostly clear deep-blue sky dotted with soft white clouds.

The overall atmosphere is one of pristine, unspoiled paradise: vivid colors, perfect tropical light, seclusion, and natural beauty that makes Cinnamon Bay famous for its long shoreline, excellent snorkeling (often toward the small offshore cay not directly visible here), and peaceful vibe within the national park.

It's the kind of scene that instantly evokes relaxation, escape, and the magic of the USVI.

New Image posted on the website Breathtaking shot of a juvenile Humpback Whale breaching in the Salish Sea, near Port Angeles, Washington. fineartamerica.com/featured/por... #photography #wildlife #Humpback #Whale #nature
This is a breathtaking shot of a juvenile Humpback Whale breaching in the Salish Sea, near Port Angeles, Washington. The timing of this photo is incredible, capturing nearly the entire body of the whale out of the water.

The whale is performing a "full breach," where it uses its powerful fluke to propel its massive body upward.

You can clearly see its signature long, white pectoral fins—the feature that gives Humpbacks their scientific name, Megaptera novaeangliae ("big-winged New Englander").

The Splash: The "explosive" water droplets frozen in mid-air emphasize the sheer force and energy of the maneuver.

The background shows the misty, layered blue silhouettes of the Olympic Peninsula which are characteristic of the Pacific Northwest's overcast maritime lighting.

The deep indigo of the Puget Sound/Strait of Juan de Fuca provides a sharp, beautiful contrast to the white foam of the splash.

Steep, rugged cliffs of dark basalt-like stone frame the scene, dotted with patches of green lichen and low shrubs clinging to the edges. The sky above is a dramatic gradient of deep indigo and purple clouds blending into warm sunset hues of pink, orange, and gold near the horizon, casting a soft, ethereal glow over the treetops. Overall, it evokes a sense of wild, untouched Pacific Northwest wilderness, in Glacier National Park.
