For the past few years my spooky season gaming tradition has been to play through a Luigi's Mansion game all throughout the month of October. This year is Luigi's Mansion 3. While I would love a Switch 2 upgrade, as is, the game now looks great in handheld thanks to the new boost mode feature.

I was going over a document at work today that contained the phrase “complete your training”….and I immediately flagged it. Star Wars is on such a deep level of my subconscious, that I instinctively identify that phrase as being Star Wars coded. Am I the weirdo? Does that phrase sound normal?

Visited a local Tokyo tailor, and other than admiring all the clothes on display, I was also intrigued by the decorations around the shop…including a vintage copy of the Hardy Boys. Apparently, to a lot of Japanese, there is an overlap between “ivy style” and the clean cut heroes of the Hardy Boys.

When Kurosawa was given his lifetime achievement Oscar by Lucas and Spielberg, he said, at 83 years old, “only now am I truly discovering the potential of cinema.” I feel the same way about suits. In a YouTube livestream to announce that games from gen 7 consoles will soon be appearing on Game Center CX, Arino played some Wii / PS3 games that represent that era…..including Demon Souls. I would watch an entire season of Arino learning the ropes and making his way through Demon/Dark Souls.

Spent the last two days in Atami, and I was stunned by the resort hotel at which I stayed. It was a perfectly preserved bubble era time capsule, down the marble pillars and chandeliers. While everyone was admiring the panoramic ocean view, I was gawking at all the frozen in amber Showa era decor.
