if you're thinking there's probably a specific story behind this post then you would be right! you probably know what this is, but i'm genuinely curious what that upside down controller with the dark red underside could've been. incredibly yes, this *is* by far the best pic on the listing

now this is *much* more like it! (Veil of Shadows). definitely still some dodgy vfx here and there which is seemingly unavoidable in these rn but this is leagues above in every other element that matters (not just saying that because they gave my girl such a cool role but also i ain't complaining)

fun random JP auction win, a yamaha RY10 drum machine in "uncomfirmed" condition for 1/10 the usual asking price! i've had near-perfect luck with this stuff so far but will it stay that way? 🤔

come for the queen you better not miss! 🀄 (this uses similar rules to NTE which are initially very alien to riichi-heads like me but i've since learned are commonly known as Sichuan Bloody rules)

FFS // Joe @farfromsleep.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

today's delivery! the saga continues + yuma star memory✨ if you're wondering why the star memory cover looks a little funky that's because this 1988 release is still sealed! something that can randomly just happen in JP auctions that would be unthinkable over here without some ridiculous price hike

1121

FFS // Joe @farfromsleep.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

fyi for the benefit of the one other oomf who might possibly care about this, the long-delayed english switch version of touhou SRPG Fantasy Maiden Wars just launched a few days ago!

FFS // Joe @farfromsleep.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

grabbed it! happily this is from the golden era of DVD where'd they'd happily stack a movie like this with as many extras as they could find so there's some fun stuff on there

FFS // Joe @farfromsleep.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

there's this one irish dvd seller on ebay i check in on every now and again because they always have interesting cheap stuff and look what just showed up 😭

been meaning to upload this forever but it's finally time to share some real deep-dive LTDT silliness with 1992's 地球防衛少女隊 (aka "Earth Defense Girl Corps") enjoy another piece of fairly obscure Iko-Chan! 🫡 archive.org/details/eart...

and another near complete idol video magazine collection basically falls into my lap! 3,000 jpy for the set which is a huge win as i've seen some of these hit 10k each very recently!

the side content in this game is kinda wild, from yakuza-style shop management and property development to full-on car races and taxi missions but the mahjong maid cafe where you can invite your fave squad oomfs to play with you is just 👩‍🍳💋

love this *very* early mission with a phantom viewfinder that can "capture" you into a photo-negative dimension, very neat! (also pls enjoy the gameplay of a clown who spent the previous day hammering zzz and has entirely the wrong muscle memory for switching/dodging)

150

FFS // Joe @farfromsleep.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

another massive win! the legendary vinbo FINAL and the feb 89 issue (technically vol 09 i think) featuring a feature on what looks like izumi's "illusion" shoot! HEY VINBO 👊💥

080

FFS // Joe @farfromsleep.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

it's heavily monetized for sure, but very playable for a free player. you can experience most of it just fine, but if you want the best girls you are going to suffer for it 🫠 that section before is actually the intro showing off characters you won't have yet, but the actual starters are fun too...

120

FFS // Joe @farfromsleep.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

jumped ship to the game i was originally planning on trying first (ridiculous gta-meets-zzz gacha fest neverness to everness) and yeaa now THIS is the kinda anime nonsense i had in mind!

120

FFS // Joe @farfromsleep.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

another one from the holy grail list down! 😤 don't think this proper obscure izumi-starring 1994 v-cinema has ever left VHS so it's a huge win. there's been a single copy floating around for silly money forever but i got an absolute steal of a deal on this one so look forward to it!

FFS // Joe @farfromsleep.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Happy Risa day! to celebrate I'm making her idol video available to everyone for a while, so grab it while you can! Be sure to download (as the streaming quality from gdrive is AWFUL) and enjoy 🫡 drive.google.com/drive/folder...
