This place feels clunky and sterile with minimal user control, as if it wants to replace Xitter on its inevitable implosion. Maybe people who thrived on pre-Musk Twitter want that. I don't think I do. Convince me otherwise.

Still trying to figure out why I should be here. Was never on Xitter, followed a favorite author to Mastodon and found it quite enjoyable, reminiscent of the old web, easy to find and build relationships/community. (continued in comments.)

Absolutely nothing is more important for the next ten months than keeping Donald Trump out of the Whitehouse. Nothing. Not Biden's age, not Palestine, not Ukraine, not the border, not income inequality. We can argue about all of that after we send Trump packing for good.

Without hashtags, how does one find content? How do people find my posts? This place feels very elitist. I'll stick around to read your content, since you post very lottle on Mastodon, but I see no upside in creating any content or promoting my work here. Nobody will see it.

So, I haven't been here very long, but I have to say I am not overwhelmed. Someone like you, who already has a large following, will attract readers very quickly. I had mor interaction and built more community in an hour on Mastodon than I have in three days here. (continued)

Exactly the reason I left Facebook and was never on Xitter. It's easy to respond to all the bad actors and trolls poking you by reciprocating. I don't seem to have the character to be on those sites and be kind. Not sure why Mastodon is better, but it is. Bluesky, don't know yet..
