Tablet with illustrated cover: Asian woman on bus shelter poster that says “The Sitcom Star.” She’s looking in the direction of a smiling Asian man, who’s leaning against the bus shelter and holding taro milk tea. He’s looking at the poster and smiling. White squirrel on grass. Author: Jackie Lau.

Reading the article, the group will charge people $5k to run an "AI" spell check on their manuscript, slap some "AI" art on the cover and then shove the book out of the door. It's a vanity press. Who was gullible enough to fund this?

It’s not a coincidence that all the things the authoritarians hate — education, public parks, libraries, disability care, actual freedom of speech — are exactly the things that help all of us, marginalized or otherwise, to thrive. The right need people to be suffering or else nobody needs them.

“How’d the world die? A pack of no-talent tech grifters created a digital artbarf machine to spew endless artbarf and each time the machine threw up it drank more water, destroyed more resources. Nobody wanted it but they did it anyway! Eat your roach paste.” www.thebookseller.com/news/new-pub...
