Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Imagine you have a friend who survived a car crash and they're mad at themselves for wrecking the car. It's dumb, but I'm finally getting out of it. I'm not the smartest person, but I know how to use my brain. That's how I'm coming out of it 100
Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026You have to live thru being 'lazy' after a very severe depression before being able to do anything. Depression in my case was like falling from a mountain and breaking every bone in my body. It takes time to heal, and being judgmental about it does nothing but makes things worse. 100
Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026One that makes me feel bad for having serious thoughts, makes me avoid having them, and makes me avoid solving (interacting with) them. And the awareness of the fact that this observation uncovers this feeling, which is a thought as well - makes me capable of eating olives straight from the jar. 100
Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026If I get a serious thought, which says, I should put more effort into working on e.g. job projects, and I end up working when I should be sleeping... Then I'm killing myself. One is a one-timer that will make my silly thoughts seem smart. The other one is a dumb repetitive habit. 100
Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026In other words: if I get a stupid thought, which says, I should get into sewing, and I waste some of my time on it - then apparently I did something productive; 100
Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Treating those serious thoughts the same way you'd treat silly ones is valid, because they're of the same value; they both are not real, and your actions determine your future feelings for those past thoughts. 100
Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026My point being: if you can't be conscious of the fact that your brain is just an organ - then you'll never learn how to use this organ. 100
Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I used to have cravings, but today I can look at them and see that they're only silly thoughts that can be completely ignored. And nowadays they're kinda forgotten. The only reason why I'd go for a smoke right now would be if it was my conscious decision or my friend's influence. 100
Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Another anecdote: I like smoking cigs. But I forgot when was the last time when I did that; ngl, prolly the beginning of September. Would I go for a pack right now: maybe? I don't really care. I'd love to smoke some of them the same way I'd love you to buy me a coffee. 100
Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026In the past I'd never been able to snack on olives straight from the jar. Two years ago I started eating them, but only as an ingredient. Today I thought it was kinda stupid that my brain has this distrust of some kind, and ate a bunch of them straight from the jar, and ngl those bitches are tasty 100
Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I dunno if it comes from the experience or if you have to get to a certain age, but it's fun to be able to look at your own past thoughts and apply one universal truth to different thoughts and worries. Fundamentally all thoughts should be questioned. 100

Faqqotto @faqqotten.bsky.social · 20/09/2026I like that I'm getting melancholic instead of severely depressed. I used to be depressed 24/7, where someone who'd bright my mood up was like a drug. Nowadays I'm just gonna get melancholic and either have to talk to other people or do something fun. 110
