Chatters who feel uncomfortable with their chat messages being scraped will become less chatty unless they feel sure that streamer has opted out. And no one can ever actually BE sure; you just have to take their word for it, because there's no built-in identifier. [3/3]

220

Faolkor (the Book Dragon) @faolkor.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Opted-out streamers may not want to raid their viewers into another stream where they can't confirm that the chats aren't being scraped. If people allow their events to be co-streamed, they have no control over the settings of anyone who's broadcasting their content. [2/3]

Faolkor (the Book Dragon) @faolkor.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

#Twitch is crippling the very thing that puts them ahead of other streaming platforms: community features. People have brought up issues with Stream Together + Shared chat, but what about raids & co-streaming — or even chatting? [1/3]

Opt out toggle here: twitch.tv/settings/secur ity#settings-security-page-ai-consent (Double-check it after the fact; some people have had it reverse itself.) + User voice post, in case you also want to yell into the void: twitch.uservoice.com/forums/92338...

Faolkor (the Book Dragon) @faolkor.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

I am so angry about this. We should all be toggling this off immediately. (Links below.) And #Twitch should be using EVERY METHOD to inform streamers that this is a live feature.

Some weeks are just tough. (Like a week where your PC dies & vet visits are needed.) I am so, SO sososo beyond grateful for my incredible community, who has been so understanding with schedule/content changes, and came together to help get me a new PC 😭💖 You Book Wyrms are the best ♡♡♡♡

☘️Happy St Patrick's Day!!☘️Irish myth is what got me into myth/ folklore/ fairy tales in the first place. So I had SO much fun reading stories about Finn Mac Cumhaill, last night on stream. 📚 If you missed it, I've just popped a (very minorly edited) version of the stream up on YT! 👀 (link in reply)

Still giggling that we ended up getting 3 BINGOs on our custom board whilst reading The Emerald City of Oz. These books are a trip & Baum's resentment at writing them is palpable.
