While sources online differ on whether Dryden was 21 or 12, this appears to be a scan of the original reporting so 12 is likely a typo that got propagated online. Anyway, I wonder if the Velvet Underground, or John Cale, were aware of this incident.

British Girl Saved From Delivering Herself To Beatles

Sunderland, England, June 15 (Reuters)—Beatles fan Carol Dryden, 21, nearly suffocated when she tried to send herself to the mop-haired quartet in a wooden crate.

She wrapped herself inside the box marked, "Presents for the Bratles," and had a friend pay $8.40 freight charges for the 280-mile rail journey to London.

Ten minutes later a porter saw the box move and the plot was discovered. Carol had forgotten to put airholes in the tea chest—and would have died within half an hour.

Time to brace for Panic 2.0.
A photo of Italian Republic Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio with a quote attributed to him reading, "There are regulatory gaps regarding role-playing games, which no one knows about, but which have caused a whole series of psychological damages, even suicides among young people and no one has ever talked about it."

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice in Chains.
