Batman & Robin by Grant Morrison et al. This was some of the most challenging works I read in my early "monthly" comics reading. Never have I been as frustrated yet madly in love with a work as this. Morrison remains my (problematic?) fave.

Avengers vol 1 by Brian Micheal Bendis. Bendis and Romita Jr’s big revamp post Siege felt so massive when I was a kid, especially with excitement ramping up for the MCU film. Lots of big set pieces and wacky visual concepts like Thor flying into Galactus’s head are seared into my brain.

Development on an OC I'm noodling around for my next long term project. Trying to show the bodyhorror/transhuman evolution of a Cyberpunk-hero over time, gradually losing the features that makes one humanoid and becoming more and more mechanized. Or maybe I just like drawing big-ass hands.

3 black-and-white drawings of a tokosatsu original character named "Dragonfly" showing the progression of mechanization over time

I don’t do inkt*ber anymore but here’s an OC inspired by Dracula’s Daughter, Modesty Blaise, 1920’s high fashion, Bob Kane’s Batman and a Pokémon-esque annoying sidekick ghost-familiar.

Name a film flop you wish had done better at the box office #filmsky Wanted to check this out on the big screen but this thing was pulled after its first week. It’s a shame Chazelle is stuck in directors jail for the crime of making such a rambunctious film

The Spectre holds such a weird and interesting place in the DC universe. At once a pulp mystery character and a weird horror host in addition to being a cosmic superhero. I don’t think there’s a bad Spectre run out there.

Rogue is bae. I don’t have any interesting anecdotes about here personal history or move set or costume or anything. I just love the design and personality. Midwest emo chicks are hot. I’d let her kill me.

I like both Green Arrow’s, but coming out of Grant Morrison’s JLA and learning about Conor Hawk was awesome. Great skill set and interesting interpersonal dynamic and background that differentiates him from his dad. Should show up in way more expanded media than he does. And what a great outfit!

Ghost Rider may be the ultimate Marvel character if you are 10. Infinitely powerful with a radical design and a hyper toyetic vehicle gimmick. Skulls are cool. Fire is cool. Motorcycles are cool. What’s not to like?

The original Bill Everett Sub-Mariner and his Silver Age Marvel reinvention is so exciting and dangerous as a character. Should’ve stayed on top with the likes of Spidey, Cap and Hulk in my opinion.

I know the cultural cache of Superheroes is kind of on the downswing, but I just freaking love the genre so much. So for this year’s #superheroday here’s a thread of some good guys I like a lot in no particular order. Starting with the GOAT 1/?

Recently completed #watchmen commission from my last show. Speedball links and alcohol marker colors. I have such an immense respect for what Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons crafted. I can only pray that I did the work justice for the client.

You can place my drawing in a precise moment in the book, between pages 18 and 19 of issue 10. Rorschach and Dan head over to Viedt's tower in the financial district of New York. In the background you can see an ad for Viedt's "Nostalgia" perfume, as well as the Gunga Diner balloon over the moon. The red sparkle in the sky is Mars, where Laurie and Dr. Manhattan are having their conversation regarding "thermodynamic miracles".
