It’s MONACO weekend. Yep, that’s right, F1 is back at the southern french version of Peckham to race around tight and twisty streets. Apparently this year the smaller cars and better aero will make it exciting. I hope so!

Nice analogy! I’ve always enjoyed F1 driver names. Some people seem to have names that were always going to be racing drivers. “Juan Manuel Fangio” “Wolfgang von Trips” “Fernando Alonso” “Rene Arnoux” Or maybe it’s just because I’m from Yorkshire and these are all foreign names.

And this is a good thing. I’m a fan of original F1 where getting to the finish was an achievement in itself. It should be hard because every is pushed to the limit. That said, more testing would help even out the field a bit.

Re Bahrain & Saudi, I guess the wording is significant. We’re all saying cancelled, but F1 says the races won’t happen in April. But go on to say they won’t happen any other time either. So the aren’t “cancelled” but won’t happen. Is that some clever wording to help ensure the $$ keep flowing?

Russell - Pole & Win “regulations are good” Verstappen - Crashed in Qualy and didn’t win “regulations are awful” Let’s just give it some time, Australia was fun. And it’s not always a fun race. Sure some overtakes *looked* easy but then DRS did the same for years and we got used to that.

Just going to start sharing this now - the second race of 2026, China is a SPRINT race. Now, given that Sprint Qualy happens on a FRIDAY, Fantasy GP will also lock on the FRIDAY. So you'll need to be sorted with your teams and predictions before 7:30am GMT FRIDAY for the Chinese GP weekend.

We don't know the status of Antonelli's car yet. We do know how fast the Mercedes can be. Might still be worth having both drivers - the car looks quick enough to lap the field... maybe. Could be some massive bonus points if he does start lower down and comes through the field.

Further to this, watching F1TV today, and on the results for practice, the drivers are listed with their 'team' and Red Bull is listed as Red Bull Racing Red Bull Ford, but Alpine is listed as Alpine Mercedes - massively inconsistent after seeing you pointing out that the 'team' is Alpine Renault 😆

Yep, Red Bull pushing it - and also having their name twice is just silly, regardless of it being technically correct. Ferrari are Ferrari Ferrari. Is the engine a Ford or a Red Bull? If it is actually a joint effort then simply "Red Bull Racing Ford" would still work.

Seems inconsistent most are simply the constructor (Ferrari, Audi, Mercedes) since they also build their engines, then others are McLaren Mercedes or Haas Ferrari, which is fine - car + engine, but then there's Williams and Aston with Atlassian and Aramco in the names, but they are just the $$$ bit.
