I live in a very diverse world and I find the echo chamber of Bluesky to be kinda weird. For me, it’s unnatural and strange. We don’t need people promoting hate, but there’s a middle ground. A lot of Bluesky is toxic positivity. I’m still trying to figure out how to get a good mix on here.

Marvel releasing a slew of comics that are total reprints of comics from the 80s seems troubling. Nostalgia is fun, but it says concerning things about the state of comics if books from the 80s are doing well enough to justify these reprints increasing.

I want to talk about why I picked the books I did. Miracleman 15 was a book I spent years looking for as a teen and it lived up to the mystique. It asks the question of what it would be like if two super powered beings fought and the answer is extreme brutality and carnage.

I have now officially run 600 miles this year. My best year before this was 350 miles. It’s honestly been one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. My breathing, balance, and posture is better than ever. Just very happy with myself.

nov 8th: a fictional character you find most relatable My most relatable is John Crichton from Farscape, this niche sci-fi show from the 90s. He was constantly in over his head and dealt with it by being goofy. He was also an engineer with a personality, which I liked.

nov 7th: fav retro game This is a hard one! I think my favorites are Shining Force, Phantasy Star 4, Streets of Rage 2, and Gunstar Heroes on Genesis. And then Alien Hominid on the GameCube. I love retro games.

I read this morning that 44% of Americans haven’t read a book in the past year. That’s crazy to me. Reading books is my life. But, it’s not a thing most people do. It’s a very isolating passion.

Bluesky is really boring because there’s so little cross-engagement. Everyone talks to the same people. It’s like being at a party where everyone is nice, but I’m just standing around looking for a way to get into a conversation. It’s definitely curbed my social media use.

This is completely subjective, obviously, but I highly disagree on video games being the best form of entertainment. I’m a book guy. I much prefer getting to know characters and the structures of fiction to interactive media. I have not yet seen a game with the depth of great novels.

I badly want to see Horizon 2, 3, and 4. I’m totally the audience for self-indulgent Kevin Costner movies. He’s one of the last few genuine movie stars and we don’t get movies like he makes anymore.

The problem is the Dem media doesn’t understand how to interpret numbers and charts, so they did a very bad job reporting on the economy. People have been getting destroyed by inflation. Also, there are tons of economic markers the economy has been shit, but they were under reported.
