Yeah the show, doesn't really show any of their relationship at any point? But at least for me, there was a lot of hints and tension between them in the first two seasons that was fairly well done. This new season- Well.

even in my dm corner, I'm sad because like- what do you mean we don't get to see ANYTHING from their chapter. Why didn't that get it's own little episode. There was SO MUCH potential and they took interesting good concepts and made them worse? Sort of the reverse of the last two seasons.

I think the use of the term problematic waters down how people engage with media and instead you should actually be naming the specific issues you have with things. Also avoiding any art that houses any 'problematic' themes probably isn't helping feed your brain.

Ageism is definitely an element, but the fandom also often also softens younger Daniel down to this strange soft helpless version of him that is far from the character we see in canon. A lot of it comes from fandom just refusing to acknowledge challenging themes.
