Instead he was supposedly Jasper and Rosalie older brother who had been to young to take care of them when their parents died and had been separated. He later came to get them but when he saw they were already a part of the Cullen family he didn't want them to lose that. ~~

Eventually they met Alice and then the rest of the Cullen Clan. Carlisle who was married to Esme were known as the adopted parents of Alice, Edward and Emmett who were supposedly siblings and then Alice and Rosalie who were supposedly Esme's niece and nephew. Ajax never became an adopted child.~~
