On Thursday night I had the pleasure of attending a performance by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in the National Concert Hall, Ireland.
It was a great night that featured four of Mozart's pieces, with the spotlight being on his Clarinet concerto, which was performed by Julian Bliss. Just watching him play was such a delight, you could feel his energy and see how much he enjoyed this. His performance was excellent!
The conductor was another story. He was rather young and put his whole heart into the performance. He really conducted the orchestra rather than just show them the beats! I have a huge interest in conducting and I probably spent more time watching him than listening to the music 😅
I've been to tens of concerts in the trumpet section of my youth orchestra, but this was a truly spectacular night. Thanks to everyone at the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the National Concert Hall who made it happen!
