It's strange how uneventful, even mundane Starmer's resignation feels like. Maybe because of the sheer number of PM's post-Blair with 2 years almost the norm. Such a contrast to Thatcher resigning in 1990 which felt revolutionary. Or maybe that's just an age thing.

It’s been weird and depressing to watch US crowds at Ryder Cup But I’ve realised there aren’t many times US plays another country/ continent at sport outside Olympics, eg American football, baseball, basketball. That’s a lot of pent up jingoism
