The post-fertilization archegonium gene network of seedless plants contributed to the origin of seeds - Nature Communications
The authors identify conserved gene networks across fern and angiosperm reproductive development, including between the sporophyte ovule and the fern gametophyte egg-chamber. Repurposing of this netwo...

Thrilled to have received an ERC Advanced Grant to investigate the mechanisms and biological impact of small RNA mobility in plants. A huge thanks to my team for making this possible, and to the reviewers for their support and confidence in the project. Looking forward to getting started!

It remains possible that this null hypothesis could eventually be rejected if robust evidence supporting an alternative interpretation emerges. We are indeed looking forward to such potentially exciting findings, while we hope the quality of analyses remains high standard for any new hypothesis.

We here point out that, the absence of SRF genes in land plants remains the current null hypothesis. This hypothesis cannot be conclusively proven, as absence itself is inherently difficult to demonstrate; rather, one can only demonstrate the failure to detect evidence for presence.

The origin of MADS-box genes is fundamental to understanding the adaptative innovations of land plants. We are happy to have the opportunity for another round of clarification. Thank @genomebiolevol.bsky.social for providing the platform. Very professional editors and reviewers, much appreciated!

I defended my PhD 10 years ago today. That was the least remarkable thing that happened that day. Sharing something I wrote about it last year. Since then "the horrors persist but so do we." And with dignity.

I am delighted to share our review on MADS-box genes! Supported by Claudia @claudiakohler11.bsky.social, we attempt to summarize (nearly) everything currently known about Type I MADS-box genes. Let's have fun in the MADS world and check out the fruitful giants! academic.oup.com/jxb/advance-...
