thinking (very quickly!) of foundational albums, though many of the 2000's don't make it. but, such was the question, and it should not be changed. #My9Albums
1. Joy Division « Closer »
2. Wire « 154 »
3. The Blue Nile « A Walk Across the Rooftops »
4. New Order « Low-life »
5. Tindersticks « II »
6. Talk Talk « Colour of Spring »
7. Cheap Trick « Heaven Tonight »
8. Stevie Wonder « Songs in the Key of Life »
9. Queen « A Day at the Races »

Discogs, this is all kinds of wrong... though the album by The Chameleons is one of the awesomest. I cannot find a way in to The Fall, but I must say: 3 songs in and this is a great hooked in... as « Script of the Bridge » was. (I wait to see if this is heretical take...)
search on Discogs.com for The Fall's new album called « Post Script », but all that is suggested is The Chameleons' « Script of the Bridge »

maybe for an audience of one [ @gregfallis.com ]… in the morning, I wrote (abstrusely, obvs)... maybe a lament recalling « In Praise of Shadows », but with a multicultural slant experience. wattevs. at night, I stumble upon this video, and thought it was related: a comment exactly made my point.
screenshot of a video about the making of what is an expensive Japanese broom… and the spot-on comment about "but I have an eternally lasting $15 broom" (versus the $160 version, never mind the $500 version). video link: https://youtu.be/TE7FHrOQLZg?si=mRp0joyEsj3IZXjM

blotting paper is not that expensive, yet these have been around for more than 10 years, perhaps 15 or 20. ok, no more than 30. yet, I finally noticed that it makes no sense to toss them, all because of an appreciation for Wabi Sabi. [ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wabi-sa... ]

BREAKING: this checks out. while I lived in SF 7x that of the 5 years in Massachusetts, the latter was at the youngest age range of the time in the USA. I never did "pahk my cah by the bah while in Wustah", but OMG!1!! I am, all, like, fershure… OMG!1!! also not saying "Delores" nor "San Rafel".
cities that are most like me... Boston and San Francisco (where I lived). and the least likely of Dallas and the south east of the USA.

as it was written in the original « Jaws » : ‘we are going to need a bigger table.‘* organising books/media/notebooks becomes very time consuming when there’s space. *the original script took place at a paper store, but then it got changed to the sea… hence the use of “boat” instead of table.
photo of a 1m square table that’s inadequately small for the categorisation of notebooks, even though only one conforms to the USA paper sizing standard.

Post your favourite final shot in film:
this final scene shows a man, positioned on the left of the frame, whispering into a wall, and the rest of the frame is made of textured/uncolored walls from Angkor Wat.

“Post an album that was important to you when you were 11.” I was not listening to music (intently) when I was 11. but the soonest after that had two albums that wow'd me at the same time (from the radio), were super important. (it's impossible to pick one… just like I have two arms…)

(photo not by me, just its presentation.) it’s has been long time since visiting, but the memory of it, before the memory triggers to come, may be well represented here.

we got an elf instead of a Christmas tree. then, the question was: "and does Totoro brings presents too?" well, yes, he has a magical Catbus to make deliveries. so then, the presents were around this 30 cm Catbus and similar sized elf.

it’s difficult to shut me up, but this would do it. speechless.
Travelers visiting the United States from countries like Britain, France, Germany and South Korea could soon have to undergo a review of up to five years of their social media history, according to a proposal filed on Tuesday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The change would affect visitors eligible for the visa waiver program, which allows people from 42 countries to travel to the United States for up to 90 days without a visa as long as they first obtain electronic travel authorization.
In a document filed on Tuesday in the Federal Register, C.B.P. said it plans to ask applicants for a long list of personal data including social media, email addresses from the last decade, and the names, birth dates, places of residence and birthplaces of parents, spouses, siblings and children.
Under the current system, applicants from visa waiver countries must enroll in the Electronic System for Travel Authorization program. They pay $40 and submit an email address, home address, phone number and emergency contact information. The authorization is good for two years.

really, I can't keep track of what the hell is going on in the USA, and maintaining some awareness causes extensive brain contortions. still, from afar, since the money goes to the same source, it was good to do this… and explain Kimmel as the reason. not that I care for his show.

great minds at work, which is reassuring that the world's businessmen acumen is solidly entrenched in such layered (reverse?) Ponzi scheme. (a correction is that the $5K is $50K and up, and the expansion on details started with "Oh sweet summer child, it is so so much worse"... )

idle thoughts during long commutes: « Unknown Pleasures » vs « Closer ». for me, it is always « Closer », but I have been coming around (after 40+ years) to see why « U.P. » is preferred for many, if not the majority. I mean, they are wrong, but I am understanding a bit more.
