Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I love their games, but it's extremely annoying that they take a year to add things that seem like they should have been there day one. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Lol wut. They have a COD every year, Fallout remasters, Spyro, TES6, OD, Diablo 5, Wolfenstein 3, Starcraft, etc etc. Their output is still greater than Sony's. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 22/09/2026DDBA has been the exception to that though. Three seasons in three years. It was the first show they were going to use as a template for producing shows going forwards. 011
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 08/08/2026If your Series X is loud then it's overheating. You need to, at the very least, open it up and clear out the dust. If it's still loud after that then you need to apply new thermal paste. 040
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 01/08/2026Plays PC games =/= you can install Steam games on it. If they want to actually compete with Steam on PC and prevent gamers from fully moving away from Windows to SteamOS, then it's a valid long term strategy. Will it work? Who knows. 100
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 22/07/2026A lot of discussion around back compat on PC has (rightly) been focused on OG Xbox and 360. But... will it eventually include Xbox One games as well? As of the current gen that's considered back compat as well. That would blow the doors open for the Xbox library on PC. 100
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 17/07/2026Wait, so I'm confused. Do all of the layoffs at Xbox mean that leadership doesn't have a plan? Or is them announcing parts of the plan a cover up for the layoffs and the fact that they don't actually have a plan? 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 09/07/2026So you want Sony to have an effective monopoly on console gaming to eventually do the same thing? Gutting id is obviously not good, but let's not be hyperbolic about things. 520
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 09/07/2026There's plenty of real things to be mad about. Let's not spread imaginary FUD on top of everything else too. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 09/07/2026Except they didn't say players. That completely mischaracterizes the quote. 210
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 08/07/2026As an Xbox gamer, if that were to suddenly happen, I'm not going to turn around and start buying tons of games again. I'm going to play my huge back log, wait for sales on most, and only buy a couple of games per year at release. 010
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 01/07/2026I can't believe the Series S is making Sony get rid of discs, or something. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 27/06/2026Isn't this disengenuous? My understanding is they leverage a TON of contact work. They don't need to layoff anyone because they can just cancel contracts. 200
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 16/06/2026Don't you think it's time to stop posting GameStop links? They're an awful corporation, charge way more than MSRP, and they're effectively ending their rewards program. There's no reason to give them our business for pre-orders. Post Frogmans Finds and/or Toy Snowman links instead. 100
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 16/06/2026@jezcorden.com So the XB2 community and the people that run it are cool with the use of discriminatory language? 110
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 16/06/2026Are you really complaining about it being $40? That's also the same price as it is on Xbox, genius. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 15/06/2026It sucks that people will lose their jobs. As big as Microsoft/Xbox is, you'd think they'd be able to find a role for folks. That being said, in this specific case (if true), this is the least surprising thing they could do. We Happy Few and SoM apparently sold abysmally. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 15/06/2026Except Compulsion Games wasn't producing games that people wanted to play. We Happy Few was fine, at best, and didn't sell. SoM was certainly a better game, but also didn't sell at all (only 10K sold on PS5 allegedly). Yeah, don't expect hits from all devs, but their sales numbers were abysmal. 100
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 15/06/2026What do you mean by "the ground"? Like a patch of dirt? Or the driveway? 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 10/06/2026T10 is effectively now a technical support studio for one of Microsoft's most popular, best selling game series. That'll never happen. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 08/06/2026No, he didn't. Grubb is known to report video game leaks, including the status of games. We were only like two days after him reporting on the status of Gears. Him saying "it might be dead" implies he's heard not good things. You're allowing "might" to do all the lifting and ignoring the rest. 310
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 08/06/2026I mean, you could have just as easily said "I don't know." 110
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 30/05/2026If that's not the case, thank you for correcting me. But also, just delete twitter my guy. In all honesty, that's probably where at least some of your doomerism around Xbox comes from. Like I said, twitter's only purpose is to generate a negativity feedback loop. 120
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 30/05/2026I never said you don't. I'm not one of "those people". But on XB2 you constantly talk about what you read on twitter and interactions/polls you have on twitter. You're the one giving the impression that a significant portion of your community interaction comes from there. 110
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 29/05/2026So in this specific case, when you reference reactions from social media, I assumed that meant the negativity feedback loop that is twitter. A "hard decision" doesn't necessarily mean something bad. EG: Allocating resources for making Windows gaming better instead of making a 1st party handheld PC. 110
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 29/05/2026It's not a place for useful discussion/feedback. Those willingly still there (ie - not for work) are either okay with/indifferent to what the platform now represents, and/or are too ignorant to understand why it's bad. So, what little real engagement is left is coming from the bottom of the barrel. 110
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 28/05/2026@jezcorden.com You need to get off twitter dude. It's poisoning your brain, and your work. 100
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 21/05/2026Sorry I don't have every single Phil Spencer quote on hand. It makes logical sense too. GP users are the core audience. They spend more time on the platform, therefore spend more money, compared to a person that buys one, maybe two, games per year. 010
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 21/05/2026Game pass users buy more games than non GP users. And as already pointed out, millions of people bought the Premium edition. 110
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 18/05/20262029 SCOOP: PlayStation confirms a return to PC in new town hall meeting. 1680
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 23/04/2026I mean, Phil did fix things. They abandoned Kinect, launched the One X, gave us back compat in a way that change the industry forever, etc. It's a lot of the bets he and his team made after righting the ship that did not pay off in major ways. 010
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Casuals either didn't play 1 and 2, or don't remember them at all. BUT THE REAL FANS KNOW. 010
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 21/04/2026It's wild to me that a lot of people in games media don't do their jobs. If you're going to go beyond game reviews and talk about the industry, then you should be knowledgeable about the industry. Not saying Jeff isn't generally speaking, but jesus christ it takes five seconds to look at a website. 020
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 21/04/2026I mean, they have a website that shows you what you get on which tiers. It's really not that hard to figure out. 130
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 06/04/2026Microsoft provided that with Series S at the start of the generation, but games media largely rejected it and turned everyone against it. 010
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 30/03/2026I dunno. AI hallucinations of light sources seems like a pretty big, obvious problem to me lol. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 30/03/2026OpenAI put in an order for 40% of RAM supply in an effort to try to stifle their competition. If OpenAI bails on those purchase orders, I would imagine most would just get taken by said competition already in line. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 25/03/2026Very accurate? They were off on BF6 by 500k. I'm not saying that single point invalidates everything they've put out since then. But to say they're "very accurate" would be misleading. 110
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 05/03/2026And? That doesn't prevent them typing out "A New Hope" or "Episode 4" in the description box so people actually know what they're talking about. 200
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 05/03/2026Pretty sure it's Austin being a "purist" and it's A New Hope. Kinda asinine in the year 2026, if you ask me. 100
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 26/02/2026Sure, but maybe they should put some effort behind releasing games on PC first? They underhand tossed a dry noodle at the wall and expected it to stick. We're approaching Xbox levels of waffling here. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 25/02/2026@gameovergreggy.bsky.social What kind of ship are you running over there my guy? Blessing's remarks today about Jez and Windows Central were WAY over the line. This insistence on perpetuating a console war mentality in the video game coverage industry is disgusting. Do better. 010
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 25/02/2026You're going to fix the cover art before it ships out, right? The left forearm armor is all out of whack. It almost looks like Chief has two right gauntlets on. 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 24/02/2026So again, the notion that "nobody is buying an Xbox" is categorically false. Those tens of millions of gamers didn't just disappear. Most of the have no idea about this ridiculous online discourse. Sure, Series sale aren't amazing. But they're not nonexistent either. 100
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 24/02/2026I would personally push back on the Series console generation being a failure as well. The last reported number was 35M units sold. But that was a while ago. It's undoubtedly over 40M at this point. They could very well reach 50M when all is said and done, about on par with Xbox One. 100
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 24/02/2026Not to mention thinking that the console box is the end all, be all part of the business is at least a decade old mentality. Sure, it's still very much an important part of the business. But Microsoft made it very obvious they have other pillars now (even before the This is an Xbox campaign). 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 24/02/2026Sure, I could see why a layman would think that. But it's also not the real truth. In reality, it's not so much that people stopped buying Xbox consoles, it's that Microsoft stopped making them and pushing them. After buying ABK they prioritized margins over growth. 100
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 24/02/2026You'll know the numbers better than me, but as far as I know nothing indicates they're on fire financially. While numbers don't entirely indicate a business's success, it's still the vast majority. Instead, everyone saying Xbox is dead ad infinitum is basing it entirely on "the vibes are bad man." 000
Falcon @falconstech.bsky.social · 24/02/2026It's not a matter of opinion. Xbox is the third largest division within Microsoft. They're in the top three largest video game companies, twice as big as Nintendo. They'd probably be in the top 200 companies in the world if Xbox was on its own. These are not indicators of a failing business. 200
