DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Marco Rubio's foreign policy legacy as Secretary of State will be clearly defined as The Bully Doctrine. Greenland, Europe, Canada, Venezuela, South Korea, Ukraine, etc. America now gets its way by using its size and economic weight to overpower smaller countries. Take a bow, Mr. Secretary. 110
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 23/08/2026I'll be thrilled when the Trump/MAGA era is over. Not sure how much of this day-to-day stupidity anyone can withstand. Listening to Trump's staggeringly incompetent and uninformed Cabinet - every one of them - is mind numbing. Mr. Trump and MAGA - not sure if you knew, but numb has a B in it 030
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Reading The Long Shadow of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address by Jared Peatman. It strikes me that nowhere in the Gettysburg Address can you find the words I or me. Contrast that with Trump. I or me is in every sentence he utters. That's his only focus - ME! 030
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 13/08/2026I was just thinking that there couldn't possibly be anything more ironic than Donald Trump's social media platform being named TRUTH Social. Holy smokes! 060
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 06/08/2026 Sen. Tillis on Morning Joe is pathetic. His defense of Tod Blanche's handling of Trump's retribution fund & the Epstein case by saying he saw the same kind of behavior in the Obama & Biden eras is a final embarrassment to his service. We've never seen anything like what's happening under Trump. 050
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Abby Phillips has had a tough time finding Republican panelists for her CNN show that don't come off as smug and condescending, but it's been a while since she had one as uninformed and sort of clueless as Terry Schilling, one of guests tonight. 030
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 25/05/2026I've read about and observed presidents for over 70 years. Trump is the only president that is uncivil in the way he treats and talks about people. Past presidents have been tough when times called for toughness, but they were always civil. Trump just hates, and millions love him for it. Sad. 030
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 01/04/2025And every lie Trump tells is always told to make himself look like the idol of the world. Who votes for someone like this? I forgot - 77 million Americans. 140
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 21/12/2024I believe history will be kind to Pres. Biden - infrastructure bill, U.S. is a net exporter of energy for the 1st time in 70 years, student loan forgiveness, Social Security Fairness Act, best COVID recovery, Chips Act that led to surge in manufacturing, etc. Biden has helped millions of Americans. 031
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 19/12/2024I get why Trump and Musk have become such good teammates-Trump has never been willing to spend his own money on his wants, Musk has always been willing to spend his own money on his wants. Trump has always wanted the power, so long as someone else paid for it. Only their egos will destroy the team. 040
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 17/12/202462% of Americans believe the gov't should ensure all Americans have healthcare coverage, up from 42% in 2013. 58% of Americans believe we should have stricter gun laws. Party loyalty aside, at what point do voters stop electing representatives who refuse to bring to the table what the people want? 030
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 15/12/2024Watching Mitt Romney's interview this morning-I am exactly where he is. While in the past I've had different policy views from Romney and other republicans, my strong opposition to Trump as opposed to other republicans is based on his many character flaws. Clearly, the country didn't share my view. 010
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 15/12/2024President Biden's pardon of Judge Michael Conahan, infamous for the 'Kids for Cash' scandal, is inexcusable. At best, it was sloppy vetting. At worst, it was horrific judgment. Either way, not a good look for Biden as he exits the stage. 010
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 12/12/2024Vivik says a federal employee told him he was looking forward to needed cuts. I'm not saying there aren't federal employees that believe there's too much bloat in government. Still, why don't I believe this encounter happened? Oh yeah, because it was Vivek who said it did. 010
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 30/11/2024There's a saying that applies when an athlete celebrates in the end zone after a touchdown - act like you've been there before. Democrats don't like spiking the ball when they do something good, then shameless Republicans rewrite the outcome in a way that is untrue and favors them. Think COVID. 010
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 28/11/2024On October 3, 1863, with the victory at Gettysburg in mind, as well as its cost, President Lincoln issued a proclamation: "I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving..." 010
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 14/11/2024Why the outrage over Trump's cabinet nominees? He told us what he would do and still the voters chose him. Now we have to deal with nominees that lack any semblance of character. The many affairs of Hegseth, Noel and Kennedy, Gaetz and his issues, etc. The character bar is at a new low. 010
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 13/11/2024There were solid achievements during Pres. Biden's tenure, but the Democrats lost the presidency, the house and senate, should have paid closer attention initially to a growing border problem, messaged inflation poorly, and hiring Garland was a mistake. Recovery won't be fast nor easy. 000
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 12/11/2024I like James Carville, but spare me his post-election analysis of Harris. The VP entered the race incredibly late, mobilized the Democratic Party, raised $1 billion, had a terrific rollout and convention, and destroyed Trump in the debate. I'm not sure another candidate could have done as well. 010
DKS1978 @falcon-23.bsky.social · 11/11/2024Following difficult times (the election!) I'll turn to more reading and visits to historical sites. Spent a day at the John Hay Estate at the Fells. Images of Hay and his boss, Abraham Lincoln, are in the background. Who will appear on the scene next to turn us back toward our better angels? 030
