I have to respect Bring Me The Horizon for submitting Dehumanized for best rock performance because I can't think of anything else that's less likely to be nominated, let alone win it than a deathcore song inspired by being told waving a Palestinian flag on stage was career suicide

Now I've read the man's Wikipedia page I'm absolutely not surprised in any way because when you think about it that's...an absolutely unhinged statement to make?

Like I respect the idea of wanting to leave the horrors at the door for the duration of a concert and I'm not against escapism but if that's the idea that you're selling, just do it right? Just stick to the whole "Metallica's agenda is unity, love, and heavy music" and crack on?

"We're not here like some entertainers to influence you with bullshit" is, in some way, a political statement. When you think about some recent pop culture news in that vein, it doesn't take rocket science to figure out what the bullshit is. So he is, technically...influencing people with bullshit

I find the Metallica thing really interesting because James could have just said something neutral like "we know how much you've all sacrificed to be here so let's have a good time tonight" and it would have been 100% fine, but instead he made a political statement while saying he wouldn't make one
