Just rolled credits on Nighthawks, and I must say @sallybeaumont.bsky.social has a delightful number of credits-outtakes given her screen time

Yeah, it seems flattening to compare subjective experiences on a single scale, or at least that is the excuse I make. I am also generally bad at knowing my own preferences.

Because that doesn't really stop people from asking, I will often give a incomplete, unordered list of things I quite like with 20 disclaimers. At least for things that I care about, the thought of pretending to have favorites is as stressful as trying to have them.

Favorites and ranking things stresses me out. It assumes a total ordering in my mind that simply does not exist.

I clicked the link, and immediately realized that I had read it about a year ago. I remember enjoying it, although I am blanking on the ending. Which is perhaps fitting.

My wrist stuff is preexisting, and comes and goes. I have a tiny 4" ereader, which can be awkward to hold-and-press-buttons at times. But I also did some heavy-ish dumbell stuff, which possibly didn't help either.

I gave myself a mild wrist rsi reading "aftertaste" yesterday. I felt sad in varied regions of my head, throat and chest. (Complimentary)

Two thirds into "We're All Going to the World's Fair," the most disturbing thing I have seen is someone microwaving a glass of milk and then drinking it.

And their own past. They had been capable of weird interesting jank, if of a different flavor than black isle. Sometimes I think the converse of the "interesting times" curse is bland competence.

As an American, that sounds about right. There is also "proper" diaspora stuff, but that isn't the most common relationship to it. The more distant you are, the more it turns into a merit badge/horoscope.

We managed to keep 1060 6gb as the min spec (with low settings). But we have gameplay relevant dynamic lighting, so there was a lot playing perf cop.

I have been thinking that myself. Not search per-se, but effective search. If we still lived in the world of Altavista, the librarians of the internet--as a postdoc once described the old yahoo--would still have a vital niche. Once Google became a verb, decline was inevitable.

It doesn't bother me that much, though. The game's nostalgia seems to be fractal and impressionistic, rather than an attempt at accuracy. So much is late 90s nostalgia for late 70s-80s music and pop culture.

I broadly enjoyed "Mixtape", but immediately fixated on the MC's headphones. They were clearly meant to be Koss PortaPros with Yaxi pads. PortaPros were clearly available, but it seems unlikely that a PNW teenager would have Yaxi pads, if they existed back then.

I do sometimes read books on my phone now when I lack the pocket space, but it is much less social. I sometimes get asked about a book that I am reading, but I can't imagine that ever happening with a phone.
