Plot twist. Qimir's real name is Kylo. The reason Ben Solo picked that name is in honour of the First Knight of Ren + because he feels a connection to Qimir and their similar backstories of being betrayed by a Master 😏 #TheAcolyte #RenewTheAcolyte

transcript of Manny’s answer on how he played Qimir as a relatable character: #theacolyte #oshamir

“My anchor point was always…whether we be geeks, nerds, we have our thing that we love and we tend sometimes to get made fun of…we feel like we’re weird or different or outsiders…and that was the feeling that I honed in on…a little alone and isolated and I didn’t really fit in…it’s powerful, that feeling, when you use that to empower yourself.
…
He’s in a world where nobody really accepts him for who he is and he’s learned that he can’t rely on others to give him acceptance so he’s going to fight his butt off to make sure he still exists.”

One thing I miss about ffnet is that time period were people uploaded fics there and onto ao3. I liked that there were two places my fic existed as it had more chances of not being lost should we suffer another purge. Only having it in one place makes me wary, but there's no other options really 😖

If we want to be REALLY honest, Goodreads was a mistake. Rating books like a kitchen gadget is a mistake. Most people actually DON’T know how to critique a book in an effective way (despite that one creative writing class) and base a lot of their criticism on personal opinion masked as editorial.
