Made this for our community on Facebook. I did a stencil design because as designers, while we can create our own systems, I think the coolest thing is when we hack and recreate systems, but we paint it in our own colors.

This ad was ran by Canadian Pacific. They were recruiting British families to immigrate to Canada during the 1925 Railway Agreement. Canadian Pacific framed this as a homecoming rather than a departure as it's appeal. This is represented through the daughter going her father's embrace.

In one of my discord's someone posted an old ads study archive, that I really enjoyed reading through. I figured I'd remake some of these for my socials. Who knows maybe you'll gain some trivia knowledge. But I think this beats just telling people to join. These will mostly be done in photoshop.

Update on the visual design I'm going for. Drawn borders for the cards of the website and the paintbrush underline for active states. I hate that I have to deviate from using a Sans Serif + Serif from Google fonts since that means it's "Ai generated." But I'm glad I found Continuo & 1403 Vintage.

Alrighty I have just overhauled the design of my site and I am relatively happy with it. With that I can finally share this splash I commissioned from @fsohns.bsky.social. You are an absolute legend and deserve all the praise. And I’m extremely happy with how it developed.

This piece centers around the "killing of natural processes." A human-body TV-head robot ( reminiscent of FLCL) is extracting the essence from the Forest Spirit.

My spider is a mechanical beast that lashes out at the robot, and its mandibles strike the tv head in the corner like a boxer slamming his opponent in the jaw.

"A desperate multi-limbed guardian of nature (the Spider) lunges from the shadows of a decaying forest to strike at a TV-headed harvester draining the life-force from a fading spirit."
