Yeah... a really core problem with making him the camp POV character is the audience is asked to act out his part without being read in on his deal. So you end up with weird things like major story reveals coming in bracketed text like this.

To be clear, I think you’re right. They could easily keep testing the old version of the app against changes and delay a shutdown until problems occur. This is just an argument I could see being made internally if you wanted to be charitable.

There is a world where the app remains active and breaks slowly since it can’t be updated to match server changes. That kind of slow breaking is a really bad user experience and can create a bunch of support ticket traffic you have to manage. A full shut down is simple and creates clarity.

First season, yes. Not flawless but gorgeous and does some stuff well. Recommend taking a beat before looking at the second. This was apparently planned as a 5 season show and it’s been compacted down to 2. What we’ve seen of season 2 suffers a lot as a result.

To be true to the tech it’s is based on the box should be filled with just enough loose card board to make it feel/sound like there’s a game in there.
