Furaffinity is such an important website. Run by members of its own community, not as a fuckin' venture capitalist thing. May it never die 😌

Also that last part? "our stories will always be part of tapas"... is that a threat? lol. Are you stealing our sh*t on the way out? can't be a part of what's not there.

If your cutting off ink immediately, you should let people redeem what they have, and then unlock every comic until closure. And give your original creators a severance package or something. Good reminder to not sign on with platforms. I'll be deleting my comic of here after I notify readers.

Started reading wings of fire last night. And got immediately hit with dragons with the same names as some of my dragons... I mean, there are only so many fire themed names out there, but I cringe at anything that might hint at me copying something. 😭 Its basically imposible to be original.

I try and keep this mind for myself, so im not comparing my comic to other more succesful ones that are totally unrelated like gag strips. r/comics is a prime example of this lumping together of the medium.

Fafnir Fenn @fafnirfenn.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

For some reason, as soon as art is involved, people seem to forget about genre. Comics and animation aren't genres, they're the medium. But comics and animation are always seperated in to their own catagories, not mixed with genres like horror and fantasy, and so its an easy mistake to make. 😑

Spent the morning covering up Flare Cleavage on the new eps. for the Webtoon prudes. Good times. 😑 Hopefully that's what they didn't like. Otherwise. 🤷‍♂️

Getting back in to writing mode. Going on break is a bit stressful, worrying people will forget about the comic... but it really helps regenerate excitement for working on the comic!

The thing that sucks most, is the suspicion and accusations are being aimed at artists, while all rage should be directed at sam altman and the rest of the AI tech idiots.

Its definitely harder to evaluate. Art is just so in your face and obvious.

110

Fafnir Fenn @fafnirfenn.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

Makes sense. I have a more layered approach of broad plotting that gets narrowed down to individual pages. I wrote my last comic out far in to the future, and then realised i dreaded the prospect of just drawing what i already wrote for the next 2-3 years.

010

Fafnir Fenn @fafnirfenn.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

I dont see enough talk about writing from comic people. The page im working on was hard to write, and took a while before i could even start drawing it. But people just tend see art when they of how long the comic took. I could be wrong. But just sayin' writing is hard ya'll... 😮‍💨

The canadian gov. made a pretty good case for it. Mainly, threatening a ban gives leverage to force tech to fix their crap. But no real safe way to enforce it, and tech dont care, so moot point.

Is being preened over by a couple of dragonesses less fun... if they view you as a cute pet to dress up? Elias thinks... not so much. 😋

Never got in to Naruto. But It would not surprise me if there was something similar to this in another show. It's hard to be original these days. 😅
