About two months ago I started working with fur for the first time... how hard could it be right? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! This is round six, it's much better than my first attempt to do spots but I am still kinda unhappy.

I just... couldn't stand the seams so... I remade this and third go around I came up with the minimal seamless design that would appease my OCD! I am very pleased with this one! :3

Today I spent a little time playing with ways to make the eyes. I'm pretty pleased with what I came up with so far using a half bauble, foam clay, a scalpel and the bottom of a small paint bottle to get the iris/pupil shape.

Mask fur 1.0 for my first time ever working with fur like this I think it went very well :3 I am very sure (like the main mask base) I will actually end up remaking this... (hopefully not 14 times ha.) I'm a little annoyed about some ink staining, the seams can be picked out and evened out.

I did not like the snoot so... I tore the snoot off and am now making the measuring process to figure out unevenness (one side isn't quite right! And I'm opening up the eyeholes a little!

So I got a bargain basement trim to experiment with. And added some of my own fur to it! It took about 30 mins while binging youtube 💅The blue isn't showing, I think I need a darker blue! But in my opinion it's well worth the effort! I think next I will experiment with creating a double coat effect!

I try to recycle where I can, I have drawers filled with materials I know oneday I can use! I made the pivots using screws and rubber bits from an old sofa that I stripped for parts and a voucher card!

The final layer is on, she's a lil bloated as the mask dries but will shape and file much of the bloat and then pull the sides in and cut the details once she is dried!

The next stage completed! Sanding will occur in a few days with an electric detailing tool and the bottom jaw is designed and sculpted in the meantime!

The next iteration! I took the side of the sculptured mask I liked the most, mapped it out using you guessed it, packing tape (I'm obsessed with it). And cut the pieces up to mirror them. Now the mask is uniform and I'm liking the effect. Also, paper packing tape is such a durable craft material!

Version 2! Took apart the last 'ideal' mask and shaped it into something more head fitting! Not sure how to feel about this shape but this stage is all about making something practical with the last! :3 I know this isn't how most do it but as a sculpturer this is the only way I know how to work xD
