*Bits* of the south. No good links to the south west. The train from Reading to Gatwick is dreadful.

It's early days...week 2... but sprog 3 has experienced no issues commuting from purley to Bloomsbury so far.

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Evri regains its position as worst courier. My package is clearly not arriving between 18:00-21:00. Same Iike it wasn't arriving between 17:00- 19:00. Really it's Fat Face who are at fault because they chose to use them when other couriers are available. Last time I buy anything from them.

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

What is going to happen about Strawberry/Fledge? That's my biggest question.

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Slow Horses is superb. It should win all the awards.

I don't like him ....really really not...but I'm fairly sure he can be allowed to go for a couple of hours run on a Sunday.

We went to see Pressure this afternoon. It was really good. We enjoyed it, anyway.

Fun here being pronounced...terrifying?

He did. Music in schools has never been at a lower ebb as a result.

I review my life and my choices every Saturday (or Sunday or midweek). I don't think santander can help to be honest.

Civilisation has peaked. Downhill all the way from now on 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑

Great. Two daughters who work with manuscripts and archives. No sheep though.

I really didn't like borrowing when I was the borrowing age. Consequently we bought a much worse house than we could have afforded, and not a day goes by when I don't regret that.

Yeah, I forgot FAM for a moment there, clearly it got its massive long run as a result of being fab (and Tracey and Gordo 😭)See also, foundation, which is super good. I'd love to watch silo but nobody else in the family will let me. I suspect Apple puts a bit more care into S1 commissioning too.

My working assumption is that slow horses gets recommissioned because it's ace and anything else that gets a second go has fluked it. I do really like bookish though despite it being on a daft platform. We saw 4 different funeral adverts while watching an episode this evening. 4!!!

I've never done the maths on any of my subs. Nor have I worked out if I can actually dump any of them. I believe but am not certain that we get HBO Max as part of our virgin package but I haven't dumped our Now TV sub because... I like Now TV. And I prefer the Apple environment over the virgin one

South West Water: the cup is empty and will remain empty for longer than you expect plus you have to pay us way more than anyone else pays for their water, because the beaches... which you can't go and visit because all your money is spent on water rates. Also you must thank us for this.

Trying to set up the gov online portal thing is hideous. ☹️

I'm fairly sure that Belles is the one with the contraption on the railway track... where the people are making it go one way then another way then the first way again... v funny. Nothing as funny as that in the Bond portfolio.

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

I've seen them all apart from the killing fields and touching the void. I have heard of both of those films and read reviews at the time they came out which is why I haven't seen them. I'm surprised that a bridge too far isn't on the list. Also...no Italian Job? Really?

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

I mean...the best part of my day is when/if the topic moves to this endeavour.

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Oui oui. Possible and welcome, actually.

000

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Ok. That's interesting. I like him. I wonder why there has been a dearth of news...perhaps they took a little break too...

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

@stephenkb.bsky.social I've been away from blue sky for a bit for reasons but now I'm back... has there been any news about the Harry Potter thing?

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

He's not consistent though...

100

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

Yep. He's 100% on board with the 'make everyone serfs' agenda that has been pushed since 2010. Tie everyone to the land ie the place they were born and make sure they never have the opportunity to make enough money to move somewhere else...

It feels like he thinks people should only apply for jobs that are round the corner. Or a short bus ride away. Unless they are rich obvs in which case they can do what they want.

I didn't suffer horribly for myself. But my kids did. Which is, you know, worse. They would all say no it was fine but that's because they don't know/appreciate what was stolen from them.

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

I'm planning to reread all the Thursdays before the last one comes out (it may be out already, I haven't checked). I finished early riser last night...I hadn't read it before. I really enjoyed it.

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 26/07/2026

Despite the truly horrendous faff with the trains (our train home was cancelled too) and cross country trying to ruin it all, we did manage to Attend The Tale and it was beautiful. And brilliant. And Ramin Karimloo and Meow Meow were superb. I hope it goes to the west end. It deserves awards.

000

The bus thing is only going to please the people who live where there are buses... which isn't everyone...

100

At least they are goodies not baddies...

We are giving it another try on the next train. we spent a fortune on our train tickets, theatre tickets, and hotel. But I'm not standing for 3 hours in a fiery furnace. I will never go there by train again. There's a perfectly good motorway. And that would've save on the cost of a hotel too.

When you live in a place served by multiple train providers you can properly evaluate them. GWR? Really good fast service, terrible uncomfy trains. Southwestern? Lovely comfy trains. Slow service. But cheap. Cross country? Utterly terrible. Awful 'service'. Horrible trains.

000

I think you meant to say it's *really* good but their choices regarding Gandalf have thus far been questionable. The elves and the dwarves are brilliant.

Went to station, with daughter, to get train to Brum to see a show. Train showed up. HALF advertised length. Jam packed with standing customers. Hot as an oven. Got off train. Did not travel. Trying next train. Will never go to Brum by train again after this trip. Cross Country Rail is rubbish.

Right but *is Gandalf gonna be in it*. Also though, there were directors. The performances you saw were presumably what they wanted.

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

Very strange seeing someone you know on the telly.

000

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

That's probably what the audience is doing...

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

I mean. There are few films that couldn't be improved...even if only a bit... by Sinbad showing up (briefly).

Gillian @faceofboe.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

I have sad news for you then...
