Everyone in Sweden studies English. Most used to study another language as well. I started with French but gave up an switched to German. I don’t claim to know either one, but I can read a menu and pick up a few words, plus I can see similarities between words in various languages. Not bad.

The antisemitism in V is ugly. Also tendencies in MP (greens) unfortunately. Two decades ago it was obvious in SD with its nazi roots, but they have been better at cleaning. Now they focus on Muslims instead…

The journalist here is Inas Hamdan, born in Syria and just 27. She is a brave journalist who gets a lot of hate for her liberal views. Expressen is center-right by the way, and this is in the news section.

Agreed. It’s the revised communist party. V and SD are the extremes in Swedish politics. I would still say there’s a difference between the Swedish & Finnish “alt right” and their likes in France, Germany etc, in that the Nordic ones are not pro Putin (with exceptions). That’s good.

It was on national radio news today. Also newspaper Expressen. But the main thing with V is that many candidates are pro Hamas and pro Iran. One of the candidates in this article spread rumours of Palestinian human meat in hamburgers at McDonalds… I guess Russia encourages this.

Agreed. And it’s sometimes complicated. An editor (S) of Aftonbladet is now a hawk on Russia. But right now all focus is on the other political parties.

Yes, in a way. Do you know who our most famous Russia expert, Martin Kragh, was? Aftonbladet ran a lot of Russian conspiracies about him. Also the left party (V) have these people. Extreme left and right, like everywhere, right? S would be dependent on V. Let’s hope for something better.

Either the translation is wrong or that is simply not true. What is true, is that a person in SD — who supports the government but is not part of it — has connections to Russia. This government is very pro 🇺🇦
