I've been saying this. The left needs to figure out tech and fast otherwise we may as well get used to oligarchs lording over us.

A fear tactic so good that the masses willingly disenfranchise themselves. Anthropic found the optimal FUD, by endorsing alarmist well-to-do morons through dishonest means. Why is everyone talking about ASI as though it is real? AGI doesn't exist. The populus us too dumb for AI. Corpos will win..

Mark Cuban, let's not pretend this isn't about you capitalizing on Americans miserable conditions with healthcare and you pretending your pharma company is some altruistic answer to the problem. Medicare for all cuts into that dream you sold investors and your assumed bottom line. Gross.

For all talk about how tech fascists want to "destroy democracy", people don't have a concrete idea of what comes after, i.e. "neo-feudalism" "monarchy" "patchworks", "fiefdoms", etc Very simple: "democracy" and "government" as such is replaced by massive VC firms operating through startups

Turns out, Codeberg is a trash platform and should be avoided. Glad I never made the switch. It did however, give me some ideas.

Kamala Harris should not run again. If she does then she will receive the deserved reputation damage she is inviting and that her ego cannot withstand. Kamala had her chance to prove she is worth a vote and she failed by every measure.

So it only took 4 months to go from announcements to layoffs. After reading Asha's message, my skepticism is only justified. Once again, for the interest of shareholders 50% of their staff were let go. Microsoft is an excellent example of rampant capitalism at the cost of all else.

Everyone wants AI regulated but they don't say how they want it regulated. What we will end up with is AI being regulated by corporations and institutions that fail to uphold corporations to those regulations. We have monopolies right now and no regulations are upheld.

I have a hunch that the next step in AI will be the concept of "Think ahead" where your words are actively being processed to determine what you are saying or typing in real-time and responding before you've completed your own thought/message.

The reason I believe the Lefts lack of involvement in shaping technology is two-fold. 1. Capitalism is inherent to Technology and this runs against the grain of leftists ideals. It instead coerces the individual to think like a company or an entrepreneur and become a profiteer.

Yep and we all should use this shortage to radicalize as many technology enthusiasts as possible. Too many are capitalist-pilled nerds comfortable with tech exploitation and unable to recognize fascism in their space. Now they are affected and need to pay attention to something not made of silicon.

I said this before on other platforms, but 2026 is the year self-hosting catches on as people seek ownership over their work and spaces. That also means GitHub will likely face an exodus at some point in the future.
