Today I met with my editor to discuss his suggested revisions to my novel, Meta. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the revisions he recommends will be fairly easy to accomplish. I'm excited that after a few rewrites, I will have the final draft of my novel! #Writers #Novel #Superheroe #Meta

It's been an exciting week so far. The manuscript of my first novel, Meta, came back from my editor a couple of days ago, with tracked changes and comments. I'm working on some minor copy edits -- I'll be having an in-person meeting next week to discuss tweaks to move the book up to the next level.

It's a very exciting day for me. I just sent off the manuscript to my first novel, Meta, for review by a developmental editor. I feel like there should have been theme music of some sort playing. (image does not belong to me) #writer #writing #novel #META #superheroes

I've sent out 4 or 5 submissions this week. Got a rejection back on one already, but I can't complain because it started off with "there is much to admire in your submission." I'll take that any day over a generic form rejection letter. Working on another piece for submission, set on Halloween. 😈

2/2 Then she asked how long I'd been an artist and told my story of coming back to art after 30 years. She took hand in both of hers and said, "I'm glad you came back to the thing that makes you happy." I might have typed this up while sitting in my car, crying.🥹 #Art #Artist #Painting #ArtSavedMe

Popped into Michael's to buy some new brushes and got into a lovely conversation with the nice old lady who was ringing up my purchases. She inquired what I was currently painting, and I talked to her about that. 1/2

Whew ... it's been a bit since I last posted here. I've sent my superhero (that's "urban fantasy" to those of you in trad publishing) novel out for beta reading. In the meantime, what started as a short story in the paranormal fantasy genre has turned out to be Chapter One of my next novel. 😁

I'm absolutely not in the habit of first having a cocktail after 11 PM, but I have something to celebrate. After two years, after endless self-doubt and frustration and wondering if I was crazy for even attempting it, after 104,209 words ... I wrote "THE END" at the completion of my novel.
