A 40-year-old female teacher, who had joined the anti-hijab protests in 2022 and subsequently stopped wearing the veil, said she recently participated in a pro-regime rally in Tehran.
"I saw many girls whose clothing would previously have been reprimanded by the government—unveiled, wearing blouses and pants, with manicured nails," she said. They were waving the Iranian flag. The women were joined by male university students sporting tattoos and T-shirts, Western attire frowned upon by the regime. They chanted,
"We are the soldiers of Seyyed Mojtaba," using an honorific title, she said.

Last week, a 34-year-old Tehran-based startup entrepreneur who had long opposed
the regime posted a picture of himself proudly posing in uniform after joining the military.
He was beaten so badly by security forces during the 2022 protests he couldn't move for days. He was tear gassed during the January protests and waited hopefully for the war, thinking the regime was about to be toppled.

But he changed his mind after his uncle's house in Tehran was destroyed in the early days of the war and after scrambling to reach his ex-girlfriend who worked at a civilian ministry near a targeted location. She survived.
"America had made an excuse to support human rights," he said. Then, "they said that a civilization was going to be destroyed, not a regime."
The regime came into the conflict in a weak position. Protests sparked in December by the pressures of a deepening economic crisis spiraled into calls to topple the system. Polls consistently showed no more than 20% of Iranians supported clerical rule.

אחד הדברים שתמיד מחרפנים אותי במלחמות זה ששואלים מה אני מציע, ולא שואלים איך הגענו לנקודה הזו. היציאה מהסכם הגרעין היתה קונצנזוס בישראל, וגם עכשיו לא מדברים כמה היא היתה אסונית.

גרף שמראה כמה צנטריפוגות איראן העשירה לפני ההסכם ב2016, שהיא הפסיקה עם זה לגמרי אחרי ההסכם, והיום אחרי שטראמפ יצא מההסכם ב2018 מעשירה עשרות מונים ממה שהיה בעבר.

א. איזה כשל מוסרי מחפיר. מחריד בכל רמה אפשרית. אין אינטלקטואל בלי בעיות ועדיין הערכתי את חומסקי בעבר. אני הולך לזרוק לפח את גמדון הגינה של חומסקי שלי. ב. אחת המסקנות מהמייל הזה שחומסקי הוא כנראה האדם היחיד במעגלים של אפשטיין שיודע להתנסח במיילים ולא שם רווח לפני פסיק.

Ive watched the horrible way you are being treated in the press and public. It's painful to say, but I think the best way to proceed is to ignore it. I've had plenty of experience, though of course not on this scale. A google search will bring up tons of hysterical accusations of all sorts, even groups devoted to vilifying me. | pay no attention, unless I'm approached for a comment on a specific matter. It's a nuisance, but it's the best way. The same conclusions from experiences of others, in some cases close friends. What the vultures dearly want is a public response, which then provides a public opening for an onslaught of venomous attacks, many from just publicity seekers or cranks of all sorts -- which are impossible to answer (how do you prove that you are not a neo-Nazi who wants to kill the Jews, or a rapist, or whatever charge comes along?). That's particularly true now with the hysteria that has developed about abuse of women, which has reached the point that even questioning a charge is a crime worse than murder. For virtually everyone who sees any of this, the reaction will be "where there's smoke there's fire, maybe raging fire" (whatever the facts, which few will even think of investigating). In general, it's best I think not to react unless directly questioned, particularly in the current mood -- which, I presume, will fade away, even if not in time to prevent much torture and distress. Hard to say, but it's the best advice I can think of.

לא שיש פה הרבה אנשים עם סנטימנטים למרכז הישראלי, אבל שווה להצביע על הפער הקיצוני בין הטענה שלהם שחייבים להחליף את נתניהו בכל מחיר (לרוב ככלי רטורי במטרה להשתיק את השמאל), ובין הבחירה שלהם פעם אחר פעם בעליונות יהודית על פני החלפתו.

רוב גדול (77%) בציבור הערבי תומכים בצירוף מפלגות ערביות לממשלה, ואילו רוב (71.5%) בציבור היהודי מתנגדים לכך. במדגם היהודים רוב בשמאל תומכים בצירוף מפלגות ערביות (69%), לעומת מיעוט במרכז (26%) ומיעוט זניח בימין (7%).
