The premise sounds, at least, close to my alley: you roam a bizarre and spooky island filled with horrific entities, some of which fly, like the massive whale. But before I dive into my first impression, I’d like for you, the reader, to keep something in mind: this is a Steam Early Access title.

There are many cases where we’ve seen that we don’t own the products we purchase, and the last bastion against evil is slowly being eliminated by the market. I specifically say the market, because the consumer obviously favors digital games, and it’s easy to see why.

The Sacrificers took me for a ride that I initially thought I knew where it was going, surprised me just a little, then surprised me again. For the sake of not tarnishing those moments, I will not mention any of them, but what I will say is that in this story, moral obligation and societal obligation require someone to pay the price.
