Round 6. One that always warms my heart is The Outrunners. They appeared on Dynamite as local squash talent, and immediately were over with my @wrestlingbrain.bsky.social crew. I checked their PWT account and they just had 1 or 2 designs, so I smashed this out and sent it to Truth, and they used it!

The Outrunners shirt design, featuring their classic 1980s synthwave Miami aesthetics. This was sold on PWT before they were signed by AEW, I still see it on TV sometimes when watching AEW shows.

Kenny Omega shirt design based on the artwork for Final Fantasy VII, his favorite video game. This was one of my first fully hand-drawn designs.

Hand-drawn Akira Hokuto design, based on the popular Manami Toyota shirt AJW released in the mid-90s, which has since been re-printed by others.

Round 5: AJW edition. You will notice a theme in these as I became more and more obsessed with classic AJW Joshi wrestling.

AJW "4 Queens of Destiny", featuring Bull Nakano, Akira Hokuto, Manami Toyota, and Aja Kong. Colors / typefaces were chosen based on those used in and around the Destiny 1995 event AJW held at Nippon Budokan.

Bull Nakano design featuring chromatic aberration and an early custom lettering example of mine. I think somewhere I saw a Napalm Death shirt or something that made me think I should make this.

Round 4. Here's a bunch of random ones that I think were mostly requests at the time.

The Acclaimed shirt design, based on a photo from Ryan Loco, and styled after the 1980s Yo! MTV Raps trading cards I used to love.

Katsuyori Shibata Big Mouth Loud tribute design.

Hangman Page "No Hat No Cattle" design, fully hand painted. This was done in the style of old country and western album covers from the 50s and early 60s.

Test design done at the request of Powerhouse Hobbs, when he was debuting the Monstar name. We didn't end up using it, but it was a fun exercise.

Round 3. As always, I float back and forth between retro Japanese Puroresu designs and modern AEW/Indies designs.

Mitsuharu Misawa shirt design in his iconic green, featuring the AJPW and NOAH logos, with photos and nameplates for 4 of his most iconic wrestling moves.

Jon Moxley "Paradigm Shift" shirt design, featuring photos from his work in GCW. Primary photo is a Ryan Loco image taken of Moxley with the GCW title, 2 middle fingers up, and a cigarette in his mouth. Underpainted for surreal look highlighting the pink tones in the original photo.

A riff on the previous Misawa design, this time as a tribute to all 4 of the AJPW "Pillars of Heaven". Misawa, Kobashi, Kawada, Taue each have their own plaque.

Powerhouse Will Hobbs AEW shirt design. A tribute to his hometown of Oakland, with a similar vibe to the Too Short album Shorty The Pimp. Final version for sale in AEW was modified to look like Ice Cube's Death Certificate and a different background.
