In January, the US withdrew from the WHO, having been its largest contributor, accounting for 12%–15% of WHO's budget in 2022–2023. The withdrawal, effective in 2026, will have severe consequences for health and security in the U.S. and create operational challenges for global health response.
A world map highlighting the most serious health crises in 2025, based on WHO data. The map shows seven countries experiencing severe health emergencies, affecting millions of people. These include Ukraine (12.7 million affected by war conflict and healthcare disruptions), Afghanistan (14.3 million affected by political instability and healthcare access issues), Syria (16.7 million affected by civil war and lack of clean water), Sudan (30.4 million affected by political instability and displacement), Yemen (19.5 million affected by conflict, malnutrition, and disease outbreaks), Ethiopia (21.4 million affected by natural disasters, violence, and disease outbreaks). Data from the special Eurobarometer survey on gender stereotypes published last December showed that the majority of men in most EU countries believe that feminism 'has gone too far' #ddj #gender #EU
A horizontal lollipop chart showing the percentage of men and women who agree that 'feminism has gone too far' across EU countries. Each country has two connected dots - one for men (green) and one for women (purple). A dotted vertical line marks 50%. Most countries show men's agreement above 50%, while women's agreement is generally lower. Cyprus, Malta, and Slovenia are notable exceptions where both genders show majority agreement. The data is sorted by total agreement, with countries listed vertically on the Y-axis and percentages on the X-axis. The visualization highlights significant gender gaps, particularly in Finland and Romania, while Ireland shows the smallest gender difference.
