untitled #art #illustration by David Weigham on #ExistOtherwise #LitJOurnal

Stark illustration of a silhouette of four humans in business attire looking down on a desk of papers. they each have some kind of cap on their head, and all of them are connected together by a tube. The faces are all black with two white eyes. The effect is of a creepy sci-fi scene.

poetry by Edylan Liu Edylan (they/them) is a queer migrant poet and theatre-maker exploiting the capitalist system by writing during their day job.

The only retort to
be a good girl
is I am not
good for her
microscopic glare.
The skin allowed
in a school of
tailing suits & dresses:
sweatpants, shirt.
As she did my first
windsor, or they
maybe, knighted my
coping mechanism.
Dressed to
dress up.
I stole a tie cut
on its back. An
accident to allege
a misprint
in a monochrome
dictionary, where
my entry is
a slur.

"How Does War Affect the Stock Market?" is #DigitalArt by Cleomé Morra in #ExistOtherwise #LitJournal existotherwise.com/how-does-war...

Montage of a bombed out city in the background. There is a large primitive style humanoid figure in the top right, crudely drawn with an erect penis and a hatchet in its right hand. The hatchet seems to be shooting several small bomb/sperm shapes onto a crowd of small, similar figures with no arms. The are multiple large moons and skulls in the sky. The image depicts the insanity of war.

existotherwise.com/villain/ art by #MikeDressel in #ExistOtherwise #LitJournal #CaudeCahun used masks often in her art and writing

Central image is a slick intense black mask with whited out eyes and three white stripes in [;ace of eyebrows and mouth. Behind the mask is a background of many red dots. There are three small patches of paper cutouts pasted on the mask. These read, in this order: “Villains know that they can’t trust each other.” “Did you expect to find this? A super hero?” “Fuck No!!”

yes, we have artwork in #ExistOtherwise #LitJournal this painting is by #SeaniceLenay existotherwise.com/gluttony/

Oil painting of mostly faceless brown bodies that are unclothed and partially obscured. Their limbs are entwined with grey snake-like shapes, and there are a few green Venus Fly Trap flower shapes in the mix. The image is surreal, sensual, dark, primitive, and haunting.

existotherwise.com/terminal-blue/

Two images. On the right, a head shot of a person whose face is almost entirely hidden because their head is wrapped in blue painters tape. One eye is peaking out. On the left is a facsimile of a podiatrists diagnosis: "Feeling suffocated, wrapped in despair, impaired vision, compulsive concealment."

#photography by Cleomé Morra

Black and white photograph of the inside of a bus stop shelter. There are two posters wheat-pasted onto the glass. One is a hand drawing of an African appearing woman holding a machete in one hand and a severed head in the other. In cartoon script are the words, “Off with his head!” The other poster is a typed flyer titled, “Atonement & Enlightenment,” which is advertising a “Q&A with a venurable mastur.” Both posters and the inside of the shelter are covered with a lot of various graffiti, including “Fuck Fascists, Stop Eating Pussy, Kill Democrats, Abolish ICE, and Kill All Nazis.” There are a lot more details, but I hope you get the drift.

#art #assemblage #photo by #ClaudeCahun and #MarcelMoore

Grainy and speckled vintage black and white photo of an art assemblage by Claude Cahun. A small wooden artists' model figure, standing with one hand resting on an upturned hammer. The figure is holding a large old fashioned key in their other arm. There is a small star propped against the wall behind the scene. The figure and objects cast a strong shadow on the wall behind them. The image suggests a curiously surreal situation.

"Stay in the Garden, Get Civilized, Procreate, Muck It Up" is the odd title for this photograph by Cleomé Morra in #ExistOtherwise #LitJournal if i'm not mistaken the title is a #DianeArbus quote www.existotherwise.c...

color photo of a small concrete cemetery statue of a saint. the figure's head has broken off and is laying on the ground. the background is abstractions of blues and greens, creating a mysterious and soothing mood
